Are You Fearful of the Days Ahead?
“For the thing which I (Job)greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.” Job 3:25 & 26

What was Job fearful of?  Verse 26 tell us: “. . . I was not in safety. . .”

Job was not safe and secure in his mind. Like Job, many today are fearful. Luke reveals our day:

“Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” Luke 21:26

Fear has a crippling effect on the mind. Solomon tells us in the book of Proverbs:

The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe,” Proverbs 29:25

Fear brings a snare upon us and traps us so that we cannot act in faith.

Verse 26 of Job, chapter 3, tells us that because of Job’s fear, he had no rest.

Are you fearful in mind? Has sleep and rest escaped you for fearing that which is coming upon the earth?  Jesus has the answer for you, my friend:

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Like Job of yesterday, many today are growing weary and tired, exhausted by the burdens of life. Are you tired of  trying to work out your own problems from morning to night?  Reach out to Jesus, His burden is light.  Give your burdens to Him. He will give you peaceful sleep if you yield to Him.

Lastly, verse 26 of Job, chapter 3, tells us “. . . neither was Job quiet.” Job did not have God’s  peace that passeth all understanding.  Again, Solomon gives us assurance:

“But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.” Proverbs 1:33

Will you rest in Jesus? Will you come apart in quietness, and hear His still, small voice.  He is the giver of peace.  He will take away your fear, if you come to Him.

“These things I (Jesus) have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Be of good cheer. Don’t allow the fear of what is coming upon the earth rob you of your peace.  Today is the day to overcome all fear and doubt.  The Bibles gives many promises to the overcomers:

“He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.” Revelation 21:7

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” I John 5:4

I encourage you. Begin today. Step out in faith. Give your fears to God. You can gain the victory over fear. John tells us:

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” I John 2:15 - 16

Are you allowing the allurements of this world to rob you of your peace? Put your trust in the Lord and begin to proclaim as David, the Psalmist:
“I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” Psalm 34:4

As we see that the wickedness of man is very great in the earth, and that every imagination of their hearts are only evil continually, we need to seek the Lord, and His righteousness.  The Lord will deliver us from all fears.

Look to Jesus and be at rest, free from fear. Praise the Lord!      Keith Huff
