Vital Words to the
Body of Christ
Teaching the Everlasting Gospel of God's Kingdom
“But be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
Be ye doers of the Word. Are you doing what the Word says we are to do? What is the Word? Is it just the New Testament, or maybe the New Testament with Psalm and Proverbs with it?
The Word is ALL of His Word - - - the whole Bible from Genesis 1:1 thru Revelations 22:21.
We don't get to pick and choose the Scriptures that we want to do and not do. We are to do His whole Word.
“Making the Word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.” Mark 7:13
When Jesus spoke to the people about making the Word of God of none effect, the only Word they had at this time was the Old Testament. Men are still making the Old Testament of none effect in their walk.
“And when they had appointed Him a day, there came many to Him into His lodging; to whom He expounded and testified the Kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.” Acts 28:23
Paul expounded and testified the Kingdom of God and the things concerning Jesus from the Old Testament. Men call this the “Dead Letter”, but Paul had eyes to see the Kingdom of God and Jesus Christ in the Law and Prophets.
“Then He said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into His glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.” Luke 24:25-27
The Risen Glorified Christ Jesus, began at Moses and all the Prophets and expounded the things concerning Himself. Paul tells us in the book of Timothy:
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” II Timothy 3:16-17
Scripture is given by the inspiration of God. Are you allowing all
the Scriptures to be profitable in your walk - - - or are you picking
and choosing the Scriptures that please your walk?
In verse 17 of 2nd Timothy 3, Paul says, “. . . it says that the man of God may be perfect.” It takes ALL the Scriptures to bring us unto perfection. Jesus declares to us:
which hath sent Me, hath borne witness of Me. Ye have neither heard
His voice at any time, nor seen His shape. And ye have not His Word
abiding in you: for whom He hath sent, Him ye believe not. Search
the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye
have eternal life: and they are they which testify of Me. And ye will
not come to Me,
that ye might have life.” John 5:37 - 40
verse 38, Jesus told the Jews that they did not have His Word abiding
in them. The only Word they had at this time was the Law and the
Prophets. The Law and the Prophets had Jesus Christ written in them,
but their eyes and ears were closed.
verse 39, Jesus then told them to search the Scriptures
Law and the Prophets, as well as the New Testament). Herein lies
eternal life, and they testify of Me.
“So shall My Word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall
not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
I encourage you to let the Word of God have an effect in your life. Let it accomplish that which is pleasing to the Father. But if His Word comes back void in your life, this is not pleasing to the Father. Christ Jesus warns us:
“I know thy
works, that thou
are neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then
because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee
out of My mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with
goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art
wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:” Revelation
3:15 - 17
Jesus says, “. . . I know thy works . . .”
a cold glass of water, or a boiling hot cup of tea? In other words
do we refresh our brothers and sisters when we speak His Word? Do we
refresh our Maker when we speak His Word - - - or is His Word of none
effect, void, and bringing forth no life? If this is what the Father
observes in our walk, then we are lukewarm, and His Word tells us He
will spue us out of His mouth.
“I counsel thee to buy of Me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich: and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” Revelation 3:18 - 19
I encourage you anoint your eyes with eye salve. It is time to see Jesus Christ our Lord in the Law and the Prophets - - - then we will clearly see Jesus Christ our Lord in the New Testament. Keith Huff
