The Mystery Hidden From The Ages

“Beloved believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God:  because many false prophets are gone out into the world.  Hereby know ye the Spirit of God:  Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:  And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God:  and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come:  and even now already is it in the world.  Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:  because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.”  I John 4:1-4
Verse 2 contains a very important phrase: “. . . every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh . . . “  Some may say Jesus is going to return in the flesh.  Is come is in the present tense.  So, yes, we must confess that Jesus came in the flesh - - -  but when Christ Jesus returns, He is coming in His people.  Praise the Lord, God is desiring a people to dwell in.    In Verse 4, Jesus declares: “ . . . because greater is He that is in you, than He that is in the world . . .”  God is desiring a people to dwell in.  Verse 4 also tells us we must become overcomers and overcome all the wickedness in the world - - -  but most of all we must overcome all the wickedness in ourselves (our fleshly man).
“Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.  No man hath seen God at any time.  If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and His love is perfected in us.  Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit.  And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.  Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.  And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us.  God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.  Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world.  There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear:  because fear hath torment.  He that feareth is not made perfect in love.”  I John 4:11 - 18
Every time we show God’s love to one another His love is being perfected in us.  This does not happen overnight this takes time to overcome the flesh and let the Spirit in.
“And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?  for ye are the temple of the loving God; as God hath said, I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK IN THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.” II Corinthians 6:16
Gods is looking for a temple to dwell in.  Will you be that temple?  Will you sacrifice the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes, and the pride of life to become that temple, that place God is looking to dwell in?

“Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man’s work shall be made manifest:  for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.  If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.  If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss:  but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.  Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”  I Corinthians 3:12 - 16

Each one of us is building our temple, but what are we building it out of?  Are we building it out of gold, silver, and precious stones - - -  which when the fire comes in our lives we only become more pure - - - or are we building it out of wood, hay, and stubble which burns up in the fire, and our lives go to pieces.  God is looking for a people who will stand the test of time.

“And when He was demanded of the Pharisees, when the Kingdom of God should come, He answered them and said, The Kingdom of God cometh not with observation:  Neither shall they say, Lo here!  or, lo there!  for, behold, the Kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:20-21

Jesus tells us in Luke 17 that the Kingdom of God is within you.  Beloved, Christ Jesus’ return will not be in the flesh.  Jesus states, “I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was, John 17:4 - 5.  Christ Jesus is returning in the clouds of His glory.  His return is going to be in a people, a people who have given of themselves, given of God’s love, mercy and truth, given of their time, and money to be all they can be in God, to not only read and hear the Word but, live the Word. This is the mystery of the ages:

“Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:” Colossians 1:26-27

“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.  Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His.  And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.  But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.” Romans 8:9 - 11

“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” I Corinthians 2:9

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” John 14:12
