Vital Words to the
Body of Christ
Teaching the Everlasting Gospel of God's Kingdom
We Need to Work Out Our Own Salvation With Fear and Trembling
“Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth,” Romans 10:1-4.
We see that Paul had a prayer to God for Israel. He wanted them to be saved. Israel means He shall be a prince of God, family of descendants of Israel, and Christians. The word SAVED here means: deliverance, preservation, safety, and salvation. Many will say: “I am saved”. “I have accepted Jesus as my savior, and I am home free and Heaven bound”.
Looking again at Romans 10:2 we see that they had a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. We need knowledge to know that we need to be delivered from all uncleanness of the flesh. The old man must die and the new man needs to come alive.
“For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin”, Romans 7:22-25.
Paul knew that he needed delivered from the wretched man, (the beast nature). We must overcome the old man nature that resides in our soul. We must overcome the lust, pride, fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupisence, covetousness, idolatry, anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication, lying, jealously, hate, deceitfulness, fear, unbelief and the list goes on of things we must overcome.
of these things originate in our heart. Who knows our heart? In
Jeremiah 17:9-10 it says “the heart is deceiftul
all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord
search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according
to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings”. Let the Lord search your heart
and work out your salvation with fear
“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling”, Philippians 2:12.
We must work out our salvation with the Lord He wants to cleanse our soul, but we must be willing and obedient to let this be accomplished and complete with our Maker.
“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,” I Thessalonians 5:23.
Paul again prayed that our spirit, soul, and body be preserved.
David asked the Lord: Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His holy place”, Psalm 24:3 David was given the knowledge to this question. “He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully,” Psalm 24:4.
The clean hands mean that our works must be clean. A Pure heart is clear, sincere, and clean. Who hath not lifted up his soul means to exalt oneself, boast, and to be prideful. Sworn deceitfully is being deceitful, false, crafty, sly, treacherous, and also riches gained by fraud. Then, and only then “He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation,” Psalm 24:5.
spirit was delivered by grace,
His free gift. Our soul is being delivered by working out our
salvation with fear and trembling. Our body will be delivered when
we receive our new body. This is our hope. A body that will never
rot, incorruptible, a spiritual body. Praise God!!!
