"And He brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall. Then said He unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door." *** Ezekiel 8:7-8

God has brought us to a wall, and we are going to dig into the wall to find what is hidden in the heart of God's people. As we dig through this wall, we come to a door. I am going to take you through this door.

"And He said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here. So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon the wall round about. And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up. Then said He unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? For they say, The Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth." *** Ezekiel 8:9-12

Who do the ancients of the house of Israel represent? These are the elders and leaders of today's church system. As Ezekiel explains what we are going to see is what the organized church leaders have in the chambers of their imagery. These are the things they imagine in their minds (or hearts). And as Jesus warned us:

"O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." Matthew 12:34

It is out of the abundance (that which fills the heart) that the mouth speaks. Whatever they imagine to do, they perform with no regard for God or the flock. They speak that which fulfills their own desires and lusts.

What imaginations are the elders and leaders of the church thinking on? Verse 10 tells us their minds are on the creeping things on the earth. All their minds are upon are earthly things, things that please the flesh.

Verse 10 also tells us their minds are dwelling on abominable beasts. These are all the unclean things of the beast nature, including the idols people have in their lives.

Verse 11 tells us seventy men of the ancients had censers in their hands, offering up incense to all the abominations displayed on the walls. Incense represents worship. As we look through the door to the walls, we see a picture of the leaders of the church worshiping or bowing down to all the earthly things of their beastly natures.

Peter reveals one of these greater abominations:

"But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption." *** II Peter 2:12

Peter says these natural brute beasts will perish in their own moral decay. As Ezekiel states, they believe the Lord does not see them because the Lord has forsaken the earth. They do not believe God has any control in their lives or anyone else's.

"Then said He unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry." *** Ezekiel 8:5

Look to the north and see the gate of the altar. The gate is the entrance to the Outer Court. At the entrance see the image of jealousy. The word jealousy means "zeal, envy, jealousy resulting in the wrath of God."

Today's church system is filled with jealousy. Many things invoke the spirit of jealousy. One church is jealous of another church because it has a bigger and better building. Other's are jealous of another man' position of his anointing. Others are jealous of another's clothing or their homes.

How does this spirit of jealousy affect one's relationship with God?

"He said further more unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? Even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? But turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see the greater abominations." *** Ezekiel 8:6

We ask ourselves why there is no power or authority in the church today? The answer is obvious. It is because the church system has become an abomination in the sight of God. And as Ezekiel revealed, God has gone afar off from His sanctuary, the church.

The church has gotten so far from what God intended it to be, that He has had to turn away from their abomination.

Ezekiel continues to reveal what are abominations to our God:

"And He brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall. Then said He unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door." *** Ezekiel 8:7-8

We must enter through the door, if we are to see even greater abominations. The door is the entrance to the Holy Place. To see these greater abominations, we must see them through the eye of the Spirit:

"He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do. Then He brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord's house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz." *** Ezekiel 8:13-14

The women sat at the North Gate weeping for Tammuz. Why were the women weeping? These women were weeping because they wanted to take the place of men - - - again the spirit of jealousy at work. God warned in the beginning against women dressing like men. He did not want them to take the place of men. Today women want to replace men in every area of life - - - as pastors of churches which God forbids, as heads of households, as heads of companies, as truck drives, newscasters, sportscasters, financial analysts - - - even in the armed forces many women are demanding equal responsibilities. One popular saying today is, "Women rule." These are the goals of today's women, and I am sorry to say it is working. But this is an abomination to God.

"Then said He unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these. And He brought me into the inner court of the Lord's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the Lord, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east." *** Ezekiel 8:15-16

Easter has just passed and most churches turned out to do this abomination unto the Lord. Easter does not celebrate the resurrection of Christ. If it did, it would be on the same day each year. Sometimes Easter comes in March, and as late as May. Easter is celebrated on the vernal equinox and originates with the false god, Estra. Yet many in today's church system observe this abomination year after year.

What further abominations did God show Ezekiel?

"Then He said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? For they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke Me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose." *** Ezekiel 8:17

Truly, we live in a land filled with violence. Every form of violence is seen through such media as movies, news program, magazines, television, and newspapers.

Why did God destroy all living things in the time of Noah?

"The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

And God said unto Noah, the end of all flesh is come before Me: for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth." *** Genesis 6:11 & 13

Once again, the earth is filled with corruption and violence. What will the end of all this be?

The end of all flesh has come. Only that which is Spiritual will remain. If we are not walking in the Spirit what will our end be? Jesus warned:

"For as in the days that were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark," *** Matthew 24:38

As it was in the days of Noah . . . Truly we live in that day. Ezekiel tells us how God will deal with today's abominable church sysem:

"Therefore will I also deal in fury: Mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in Mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them." Ezekiel 8:18

Jesus said their will be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth, but God will not hear them.

We have come through the door. What other abominations do we see? Let's look at the All-wise Solomon:

" Diver's weights, and diver's measures, both of them are alike abomination to the Lord." *** Proverbs 20:10

This scripture is referring to our business practices. We must be honest in our business dealings with others or we are an abomination to the Lord. Solomon continues:

"They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the Lord: but such as are upright in their way are His delight." *** Proverbs 11:20

A froward heart (mind) is twisted, distorted, crooked, perverse, and perverted. I think of those who are homosexual (Sodomites). They are twisted, distorted, perverse and perverted, and indeed an abomination unto God.

"Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are His delight." *** Proverbs 12:22

Lying has become a way of life. We expect to be lied to at every turn. Lying is an abomination to our God. Lying politicians are an abomination unto God. Ronald Regan stated, "Lying is just part of politics."

"Everyone that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: Though hand join hand in hand, he shall not be unpunished." *** Proverbs 16:5

A proud person is one who is high and lifted up in self. A proud person thinks they are smarter, better, more talented, better looking, more blessed than anyone else because they have a better job. These, too, are an abomination unto God.

Paul warned the church at Rome:

"For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." *** Romans 12:3

We are not to think of ourselves more highly then we ought to think. If we do, we too, are an abomination unto the Lord.

"He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the Lord." *** Proverbs 17:15

This is a great abomination. Those who justify others who are in direct opposition to what the Bible says are considered in God's sight as wicked. The word wicked means "those who are guilty of sinning against God." When we justify those who are guilty of sin, we become an abomination before God.

"These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto Him: . . . and he that soweth discord among brethren." *** Proverbs 6:16 & 19

The seventh abomination are those that sow discord among the brethren, and goes along with Proverbs 17:15, those who condemn the just. Both are an abomination unto God.

What are some of the other abominations before God?

"Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? He shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him." *** Ezekiel 18:13

Those who lend money and charge interest are an abomination to God! Interest rates are out of sight at 20 to 22 % on credit cards and loan companies. People can't ever get out of debt.

Ezekiel asked, "Can these live (exist)?" They cannot live. Every system who has ever charged usury (interest) has failed. This nation's economy has proven this. It can exist for a while, but it will ultimately fail. We know this by God's Word.

"For the children of Judah have done evil in My sight, saith the Lord: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by My name, to pollute it." Jeremiah 7:30

A church the author knows in Phoenix had a big, building program. You invested your money in the church, and they paid a higher interest then the banks.

All these abominations we have been shown are in the church today. Jeremiah wrote:

"Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit. Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; And come and stand before Me in this house, which is called by My name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?" *** Jeremiah 7:8-10

Such lies as "Once Saved Always Saved" are lies to God's flock. They say, no matter what you do you are still saved, and you are delivered to do all these abominations and still be saved.

God's flock has come to rely on a false rapture, where God has a plan to secretly wisk away His people before the tribulation begins.

Ultimate reconciliation is another lie that has crept into the church, which teaches all will be saved, even satan. What an abomination to God to teach that God's Son Jesus died for nothing, becaue everyone is going to be saved anyway.

The New Age Movement is another abomination that has come into the church, and God's people, like dumb sheep, follow all these abominations.

"Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? Nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the Lord." *** Jeremiah 8:12

There is no shame in today's churches. They do all these abominations and justify their activities by their passive leadership who do not tell them the truth. Many times the leadership speaks these lies to keep the flock from leaving the church.

"Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord God; Surely, because thou hast defiled My sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also diminish thee; neither shall mine eye spare, neither will I have any pity." *** Ezekiel 5:11

But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord God." *** Ezekiel 11:21

You might say, that is the Old Testament, but what did Jesus say:

"And He said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God." *** Luke 16:15

What is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God. Yet the church looks to those who are highly esteemed among men.

Jesus warned of the time we are looking for:

"When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) *** Matthew 24:15

Where is the Holy Place? Where do the priests of God minister today? In the pulpit. What has desolated God's people? It is the teachings of man-made denominational doctrines. What did Daniel speak concerning this?

"And He shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week He shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations He shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate." *** Daniel 9:27

Who confirmed a covenant for one week (7 years)? It was Jesus Christ. And it was Jesus Christ who established His new covenant of the New Testament for His people. In the midst of the week, or after 3 ½ years of ministry, Jesus Christ became the sacrifice for all mankind.

"But this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; *** Hebrews 10:12

Now, no sacrifice can be made for our sin, except the blood of Christ. It was Jesus' sacrifice that put an end to the sacrifice and oblation Daniel prophesied about.

Since Jesus left the earth, the abominations we listed have spread all over the earth. And truly desolation (those without Christ) have spread all over the earth. Truly the consumption and annihilation is about to be poured out upon the desolate, (those without Christ).

Paul wrote to the church at Thessolonica:

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;" *** II Thessalonians 2:3

The great falling away from the things of God is all around us. What will become of these?

"He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand. And behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brazen altar." *** Ezekiel 9:1-2

The one clothed in linen (righteousness) had the writer's inkhorn. He was the one who had warned the people of the coming judgment. Where were these standing? They stood by the brazen altar which is the outer court.

"And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side; And the Lord said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof." *** Ezekiel 9:3-4

The cherubims are in the Holy of Holies. He spoke to the man clothed in linen to set a mark upon all those who sigh and cry for all the abominations they see in their midst. He did this in Jerusalem, the true place of worship.

"And to the others He said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at My sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house." *** Ezekiel 9:5-6

Who is going to escape the judgment of God? The men with slaughter weapons were told to slay the old, the young, maids, and even little children and the women. Peter warned:

"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God." *** I Peter 4:17

Where is God's judgment going to begin? Ezekiel and Peter tell us it is going to begin with the elders, the leaders in the church system, the priests who have caused God's people to become desolate.

Peter asked, "What will be the end of those who obey not the gospel?"

"And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord God! Wilt Thou destroy all the residue of Israel in Thy pouring out of Thy fury upon Jerusalem?
Then said He unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The Lord hath forsaken the earth, and the Lord seeth not." *** Ezekiel 9:8-9

Israel and Judah - - - Israel, the rulers and reigners with Christ - - - and Judah, the people of praise have caused the land to be full of blood, and have caused the city which is the Holy City made up of God's people, to be full of perverseness, or perversion, that which is perverted. The way of God has been perverted, and God said:

". . . as for Me also, Mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, but I will recompense their way upon their head." *** Ezekiel 9:10

Are we guilty of any of these abominations? If we are, we must repent and turn from them before it is too late. If we do not, then we know what end we can expect. You can no longer plead innocence. You have been forewarned.

The Word of God is plain and simple and easily understood. The Bible takes away our excuse:

"For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" *** Romans 1:20
