Dear Body,                                                         The Anti-Christ                                                                     August 1, 2009

One of the most controversial subjects in the church today is about the great antichrist. For the last two thousand years, man has tried to figure out who this great antichrist is. Every pope since the fourteen hundreds has been labeled as the antichrist. Hitler was called the antichrist. Kissinger, even Ronald Wilson Reagan was labeled as the antichrist because there were six letters in each of his three names. Now many are calling Obama the great antichrist.

Let's look at the subject of the antichrist closely. Two other names given to the antichrist are the man of sin and the son of perdition. Does the Bible teach there is one man who is the great antichrist? Who is the man of sin? Who is the son of perdition? As God's people we need to seek for the answers to these questions.

The word antichrist only appears four times in the Bible - - - three times in First John and once in Second John. The word antichrist is made up of two Greek words: anti and christ. The prefix anti means "adversary or opponent." This prefix also means "to deny the existence of Christ as the true God." The apostle John declares:

"Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time" I John 2:18.

John declares that as we draw near the end of the age, this antichrist spirit will become very prevalent in the world. John continues:

"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son" I John 2:22.

This antichrist spirit denies the existence of the one true God.

"And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world" I John 4:3.

This antchrist spirit denies that Jesus has come into the world to forgive mankind their sins. John goes on to describe this antichrist spirit.

"For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist, II John 1:7.

As we read these verses John wrote, it becomes easy to see John is not referring to one man, but a religious system that does not honor Christ as being the one true God. This fits all the false religions in the world, but it particularly fits the Moslems which are the fastest growing religion in the world. They worship Allah, and their religion states they are to kill all non-believers of Allah. There are twenty-five hundred Moslem mosques in this nation alone. Our current President Obama was raised a Moslem, and this is his true faith. His recent travels to all the Moslem nations were not trips to speak of the good of the United States. His trips were made to unite all the Moslem nations.

It is taught this great antichrist is also the man of sin, the son of perdition. Paul declared this to the Thessalonians:

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;" II Thessalonians 2:3.

Paul proclaimed that before the day of Christ comes, there will be a great apostasy, a great falling away from the things of God. We certainly see this today, not only in the world, but in the church also. Paul continues,

"Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God" II Thessalonians 2:4.

That man of sin sits in the temple of God, showing that he is God over this temple. The word sitteth means "to have a fixed place." God only has one temple He honors today. To the Corinthians, Paul declares:

"What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? I Corinthians 6:19.

The man of sin sits (or has a fixed place) in the temple of God. And the only way this man of sin can be overcome is by the overcoming process of overcoming the old, adam nature we were all born with. The man of sin is also called the son of perdition. The word perdition means "destruction, waste, and to perish." Those who refuse to deal with the man of sin who has taken up residence in the temple of God will only bring suffering, destruction and loss of spiritual life. These will come up short of entering into eternal life. The word perdition is the Greek word APOLEIA. Peter uses this same word to explain:

"And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of" II Peter 2:2.

The word pernicious is the same Greek word as perdition (APOLEIA). Those who follow their pernicious ways are those who are the sons of perdition. These refuse to deal with the man of sin sitting in the temple of God.

Summer has finally arrived in the North Country. We are having some beautiful days. We have had much rain, but everything is a lush green. The potato blossoms are beautiful. The farmers should have good crops this year. We thank all those who lift up this ministry in prayer and are faithful in their financial support.
