Dear Body, Repent and Turn Back To God October 1, 2009
The prophetic voice has rung out for a number of years for the people to repent and turn back to God. Well, mostly their voice has not been heeded. Because of this, people have rushed headlong to their own destruction. The signs Jesus gave us in His Word are being fulfilled on a daily basis. And yet, God's people pay little to no attention. The prophet Isaiah described these people when he wrote,
"Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant." Isaiah 56:12
But this nation's more abundant days are just about over. Today we are watching what our forefathers began, crumble into dust. We are seeing the once, stable dollar become just a worthless piece of paper. We may wonder what is next? The big issue today is `Health Care'. The House of Representatives and the Senate are being pushed into passing a Health Care bill. What is this all about? These elected officials in the House and the Senate could care less about the health of the people of this nation. So what is this Health Care bill all about? It is all about control - - - control of the people. This Health Care bill is over one thousand pages in length. Lawyers who have read the bill say it can be interpreted any way the government wants to interpret it. Questions that arise are, "Is there a public option? Does it cover illegal aliens? Does it cover abortions? And what about the death panels for the aged?" When the President was attempting to explain away some of the objections, a member of the House cried out, "You Lie!" Now they have labeled this man a racist. Race had nothing to do with it. If a man is telling a lie, it matters not what the color of his skin is.
The government we have now is all about control, control, control! They now control car manufacturing and the banks. They are taking more control all the time, and anyone who objects is labeled a dissenter or a terrorist, left wing radical, or other degrading labels. When the people attended town hall meetings to voice their oppositions to the run-away spending, the senseless bail outs, the take over of businesses, and especially the Health Care bill, they were given terrible labels. And Washington paid absolutely no attention. They returned to Washington to discuss the passing of this unwanted, control laden bill. Yes, there needs to be something done about health care, but we do not need to give up what little freedom we have left, to get it. The only question we need to ask is, "How long will God let this insanity go on?" And the answer is, "As long as His people are complacent, and do not cry out to God, repent, and become what His Word says they should be!" It is easy to blame the government, but we need to ask ourselves, "How much time do we spend seeking the Lord and praising His name?" The word rejoice appears one hundred and ninety-two times in God's Word. Do we rejoice? Or do we wring our hands and put our heads down, and declare, "All is lost!" Are we looking for God's signs, or are we reading the financial and sports pages? Luke records Jesus' words,
"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." Luke 21:28
When we see God's signs, it is not time to look down at the world and the things going on in the world. It is time to look up and rejoice, because God's redemption is at the door. But what else is at the door? God's judgment. Yes, God's redemption is drawing nigh, and so is His judgment. Be certain, when God sets His hand to the glittering sword of judgment, there will be no turning back.
We are seeing signs of fall in the North Country. The days are getting shorter and the nights here are getting cooler. But we are rejoicing in the Lord as we witness all His provisions. We want to give a very special thanks to all those who faithfully pray for and finacially support this outreach to the body of Christ.
