Dear Body, Born Again! December 1, 2008
We are truly blessed to have the book of Isaiah. Through the Spiritual pen of Isaiah we can see how the ancient promises made to Israel were fulfilled. We can also discover what his words say about the day in which we live. But most importantly, we can witness what God has planned for His people in the coming days. When we read Isaiah, we can see the two groups of God's saints. First we see the sons of God, then the children of God:
"Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child." Isaiah 66:7
Isaiah tells us before Zion travailed, she brought forth a 'man child', a 'male son'. Isaiah is revealing to us that before Zion travailed, she brought forth the 'sons of God'. We also have this revelation Jesus gave us through the pen of John, the Beloved:
"But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name." John 1:12
The Greek word received means "to seize with one's hand." Those who have taken hold of the words of Jesus, and have put them to use, are going to be given the power, which is the Holy Spirit anointing that will bring them into sonship. When we take hold of this idea, we come to the realization we can do nothing without this anointing. Next, Isaiah reveals the children of God:
"Who hath heard such a thing? Who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children." Isaiah 66:8
Who has heard such a thing? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Shall a nation be born at once? The earth Isaiah is referring to is our mortal bodies, and the nation he is referring to is the body of Christ. The word nation is the Hebrews word GOY and means "peoples." Travail represents birth pangs. A woman does not have one pain to bring forth a child, and God's body will have much travail before she brings forth her children. When her birth pains are complete, then those who are left will be born again. They will not be born again until the travail is complete.
I know many will disagree because many are claiming to be born again. But without any travail this cannot be. Jesus explained to His disciples:
"And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you." Matthew 24:4
Today many are deceived, believing they are born again. In Matthew 24, Jesus warns us there are going to be wars and rumors of wars, nations rising against nation, famines, pestilence, and many earthquakes. The word sorrows is the same word translated travail. We see all these things happening now, in the earth, and as Isaiah explains these are only the beginning of sorrows (or travails). So what is next?
"Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for My name's sake." Matthew 24:9
These things have not yet happened, but are beginning to happen all over the earth. Then Jesus warns us:
"But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." Matthew 24:13
There is a time of enduring before any of God's people are going to be born again, and only those who go through this enduring period will be saved in the end of the age. Those who claim to be born again now, should read what it means to be born again:
"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." John 3:3
Those who claim to be born again cannot see the Kingdom of God. They can only see their hope as being heaven. But there is not one place in Scripture which says we are going to heaven.
"Nicodemus saith unto Him, How can a man be born when he is old?. Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God." John 3:4-5
Jesus explained: except a man be born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. Yet, the modern teaching is there is no need to be water baptized; it is all Spiritual now. Peter related to us:
"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38
Without water baptism, there is no gift of the Holy Spirit, and without the Holy Spirit there is no entering into the Kingdom of God. Jesus continues:
"That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." John 3:6
Those who claim to be born again, have only been born of the flesh. These work up their emotion and call it Spirit. What is the test Jesus gave us to tell if we have been born again?
"The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit." John 3:7
When God's people are born again, they will be like the wind; because they will have become part of the wind. These will no longer be flesh. They will have shed their fleshly existence, and will have become Spirit, as part of the wind. Praise God!
