Vital Words to the Body of Christ
Freely We Have Received, Freely We Give
The prophet Jeremiah was called the weeping prophet. In all of Jeremiah's years of prophesying, he never had one convert, but by Jeremiah's words we know what God is going to bring upon a wicked, sinful nation and the world. By the Spirit of God, Jeremiah prophesied:
"Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against Me, a destroying wind." Jeremiah 51:1
The word destroying means "to corrupt, bring to ruin, and to spoil (rob)." God is not only going to bring this destroying wind against Babylon, but all those who are in agreement with her.
Today this destroying wind is blowing into every nook and cranny of this nation. This destroying wind has blown upon every aspect of the American way of life. It has blown upon the home, upon businesses, the government, the financial markets, sports, and life in general as we know it. There are three aspects to God's destroying wind: judgment, wrath, and retribution.
The American Home
The home is the foundation of any nation. The first act of God in the Garden of Eden was to establish the home with the husband as the head. Paul spelled this out in his letter to the Ephesians:
"For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and He is the Saviour of the body." Ephesians 5:23
This is the way God set up the home. Paul related the husband and wife's positions are the same as Christ's relationship to the church. As Christ is the head of the church, the husband is the head of the wife and the home. Everything Paul recorded in the New Testament was by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
When God judged Adam and Eve's sin in the garden, the woman was told:
"Unto the woman He said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee." Genesis 3:16
Women are still having great pains in child birth, so we know God has not changed His mind about the relationship between husband and wife. No matter how today's woman has tried to change God's Word so she can become the head, God's Word stands true - - - and when the woman wants to become the head, she will be judged by God.
To the man God said:
"And unto Adam He said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life." Genesis 3:17
This, too, has not changed. Man is still making his living by the sweat of his brow.
Again Paul addressed the home in his letter to the Ephesians:
"Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband." Ephesians 5:33
By the Spirit, man is given the command to love his wife, and the wife is to reverence her husband. The word reverence means "to treat with reverential obedience." Yet, when one of the mainline churches tried to teach this, there was a great howl from the news media, and even from other churches. The whole idea of the proper home went out the window.
Again, Paul addressed the proper home in his letter to the Ephesians:
"Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing." Ephesians 5:24
The wife is to be subject to her own husband in everything. Even Peter weighed in on the idea of a perfect home:
"Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;" I Peter 3:1
Every woman who wants her own way is never happy when she gets it. God made a woman to need the man to fully, complete her existence. This is God's design, and no matter how strong-willed women want to change it, it is still God's will.
When Paul was laying out God's plan for the church to Timothy, he spoke of those chosen by God for leadership:
"One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;" I Timothy 3:4
Those who are to be leaders in the church are to have rule over their own house. His wife should be in subjection to him, and he should have his children in subjection, which means under obedience.
So we discover God's perfect order for the home. The husband is to love his wife, and the wife is to be in subjection to her husband, and the children are to be in obedience to their parents.
But let's look at the way the home, the very core of a nation, exists today. The prophet Isaiah foretold what the family would become:
"As for My people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them, O My people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths." Isaiah 3:12
God's destroying wind began to blow upon the home during and after the Second World War. It was during this time that the government created the image of `Rosie the Riveter' which lead the house wife out of the kitchen into the work place. The women worked to make tanks, ships, uniforms, air planes, combat boots, ammunition, and everything needed by the military for the war.
Women became the bread winners in the home, and because of this the children came home to a bowl of cereal and a coke, because mom had to work. The children became what was known as `turn key kids' because they came home to an empty house.
When the men came home from the war, many could not find a job because their old jobs had been filled by women. If they did find a job, it was generally a low paying job, because the women had seniority. When the men wanted to become the bread winners again, this caused many problems because the women liked their independence of not having to depend on the husband for her support.
Many men who returned from World War Two had many physical problems. They were missing eyes, limbs, and suffered from many wounds. Of course there were the mental problems. They suffered shell shock, bad dreams, and drug use. This again caused much strain upon the home and the home became a battle ground which only strained the marriage further. It was the children who suffered the most, because they had no secure place to live. Because of this many children joined gangs, which led to trouble with the law, and many became hardened criminals.
Many of the husbands who returned from the war who were not wounded, wanted to recapture the years that had been lost, so both husband and wife worked so they could have a nice home, a nice car, and all the luxuries life had to offer. Again, this led to conflict in the home. Instead of one purse, the husband and wife now had separate bank accounts. Problems arose as to who would pay what bills and where the money was to be spent.
Home life began to deteriorate, and God's destroying wind of judgment began to blow upon marriages. When ever we violate God's will, His Word, and His way, then we can expect God's destroying winds of judgment to blow.
Marriages began to fail, and many because of these failures, did not even bother to get married. They simply began to shack up together with no commitment to each other. Those who chose to live this way did not live together long because there was no commitment. The man could leave, and the woman was left with the children. She had no way to support them, so this burden fell on the state. One popular song of the day contained the line "My sleeping bag is rolled up behind the couch."
How God's heart must be broken when He sees the mess man has made out of marriage. What a difference man has made in direct contrast to God's original commandment:
"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." Genesis 2:24
May God have mercy upon the home!
Again, the children suffered because mom was too tired to prepare proper meals, so the family ate TV dinners in front of the television, and the family's health began to deteriorate.
All these developments, established the idea it was alright for women to work outside the home. God's destroying wind had done is work on the home because they had violated every standard God had set up in which the home was to operate.
The American Judicial System
The American Justice system has become corrupt to the core. God gives us more examples of what the justice system should be:
"Thou shalt not wrest judgment; thou shalt not respect persons, neither take a gift: for a gift doth blind the eyes of the wise, and pervert the words of the righteous." Deuteronomy 16:19
God declared, "Thou shall not wrest judgment." The word wrest means "to bend or twist."
"Thou shalt not respect persons." This means judgment is to be fair, honest, and non-partial to all who seek judgment from the law.
"Neither take a gift." Judges are warned by God that gifts (bribes and favors) blinds the eyes of justice, and perverts the words of the righteous.
A person's status in life, his standing in the community should not influence any decision made under the law.
Samuel was a righteous judge who challenged the people:
"Behold, here I am: witness against me before the Lord, and before His anointed: whose ox have I taken? Or whose ass have I taken? Or whom have I defrauded? Whom have I oppressed? Or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? And I will restore it you." I Samuel 12:3
How many judges or lawyers today could make this same challenge?
The legal system began to really break down in the 1960s when the Supreme Court took prayer out of the schools, because an athiest did not want their children exposed to someone thanking their God for all His grace and mercy in their lives.
The ACLU threatened the school with lawsuits if they allowed any kind of religious service to be held on school property. Because of this, fear reigned in the hearts of every school principle in the country. This was when the children began to rebel against the materialistic lives of their parents. They began to practice free love or no commitment to their relationships. They left home and began communal living where alcohol and drug abuse became their way of life. This behavior in the young has touched every person in this nation one way or another.
We had two presidents who came out of this culture - - - Clinton and Bush. Of course drug use leads to distributing - - - and both of these Presidents continued to be active in the drug trade.
This rebellion of the 1960s was not only rebellion against the parents, it was rebellion against the sovereign God. Because of this God's destroying wind did its job, and thousands of kids died of drug overdose. The children who were born out of wedlock were abused and most were malnourished. The law turned its face from this problem, and those who were mentally and physically destroyed only became statistics.
Many in the free love movement of the `60s later became lawyers, judges, businessmen, and business women - - - but they never lost their rebellious spirit. Today the judiciary has become corrupt all the way from the Supreme Court to the lowest local judge. As we view some of the Supreme Court's decisions, it is no wonder God's destroying wind is blowing upon this nation, and the world.
Being appointed Supreme Court Justice was one of the highest, most respected positions in this country. Only the office of the President is more honorable. The Supreme Court is made up of nine justices, who are sworn to uphold the constitution. This is their sworn duty.
In the case where they took prayers out of schools, the Supreme Court ruling was that there was to be separation between church and state. This separation is set down by the Constitution, which means the state has no say in church business or government.
But the way the Supreme Court interpreted this was the exact opposite from what the founding father's had intended. The Supreme Court ruling read that with the separation of church and state, the state had total say over what the church did. And since this time the government has told the church what they could teach, and who they could hire as pastors. If they do not go along with the government edict, they lose their tax exempt status, and the church could be closed. This has already happened in many cases.
The next error made by the Supreme Court was in the Roe vs Wade case. In essence, this case said a mother had the right to murder her unborn child in the womb. Nothing in the Constitution, or any other document, gives a woman this right.
This has become the law of the land. The Supreme Court has no jurisdiction to make such laws. Their total job is to make sure laws passed by the Congress, or any other legislative body are constitutional.
In recent history, the Supreme Court was asked to review the legal status of our now President Obama to determine whether he was born in the United States. This is part of the Supreme Court's duty. In spite of overwhelming evidence Obama was born in Kenya Africa, and that he then became a citizen of Indonesia under the name of Barry Soetoro, the Supreme Court failed to rule on these allegations. Then the Chief Justice had the audacity, with a straight face, to sware Obama in as President of the United States. One of the questions of this oath was, "Do you promise to uphold the Constitution of the United States?" - - - when he was one of the nine who refused to look into the qualifications of the one he was swearing in.
The latest fiasco performed by the Supreme Court was when they were recently asked to allow a moment of silence for children in the classroom. In fear that a student might, in his silence thank God for His grace and mercy in their lives, or thank God for their food, the Supreme Court stated this would not be allowed in the class room. May God have mercy on their tainted souls. Truly God's destroying wind of retribution will blow upon these nine justices for their perverted decisions.
In His revelation to John on the Isle of Patmos, Jesus reveals what will happen to these nine justices, and all others who fail to keep His Word, and their standard of excellence:
"And the kings of the earth, and the great men and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of His wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?" Revelation 6:15-17
God's destroying wind of retribution is blowing upon the Supreme Court and all the judiciary in this nation.
The local police force is supposed to be there to protect the public from law breakers of all sorts. And yet, we see images of police brutality: beating people with night sticks, kicking them, and hitting the people with their fists. What a shame and disgrace this has caused across this nation. We do not know how many beatings happen that are not caught on film or some other way of recording their actions. It has gotten so bad, women are warned against being stopped by the police on lonely streets or roads. They are warned to drive to a well lighted busy intersection, before stopping for the police.
What used to be called the cities' elite have become a scourge to the city. We should understand not all the police are bad, but the bad ones sure give a black eye to the rest of the force.
Most major cities have swat teams. The swat teams have become judge, jury, and executioners. When they are called into duty, they render their service without conscience. When they go to the wrong residence, they promote fear, anxiety, and even death of the innocent. Their victims are sometimes given compensation for the wrong they suffered, but no amount of money can pay for their sleepless nights, nor can any amount of money restore the respect they used to have for the law. Trust and respect are earned, not bought.
The American Financial Systems
Next, we must look at the financial industries. Years ago, every small town had its local bank. These banks were there to help in the time of need. They helped people buy homes and start businesses. And when an emergency arose, people could get temporary help until they could get back on their feet.
Banks were a particular help to farmers when they needed to put in their crops, upgrade their equipment, and with living expenses until their crops could be harvested. But in 1913, everything began to change. On December 24th 1913, the congress passed the Federal Reserve Act. They did this while the Christian congressmen were home for Christmas.
This put all the finances of this nation into the hands of the international bankers. The `Fed' as it became to be known, would print this nation's money, set its interest rates, and control the flow of money to the banks and industries. They would tighten or loosen credit at their will, and the local banks were grabbed up, one by one, until this nation wound up with only large, conglomerate banks that forget about the little people, as they are called. Banks became impersonal and demanding, wanting more collateral than the people were borrowing. The Fed became controlled by such money magnates as the Rothschilds and the Bilderbergs, which all belong to such secret societies as the Illuminati, the Trilateral Commission, and the Counsel on Foreign Relations.
Bankers have become extortioners. The Supreme Court defines extortion as a "crime of acquisition." Acquisition is the act of contracting or assuming or acquiring possession of something." The Bible speaks much about extortion. The prophet Ezekiel spoke about the banking system of our day:
"In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten Me, saith the Lord God." Ezekiel 22:12
Ezekiel speaks of taking gifts. Banks charge points, or they will not make a loan. They charge usury, and the banks have greedily gained increase by extortion, the crime of acquisition or acquiring property or wealth.
A person finances his home through the bank or lending institution. He pays on this loan for twenty years, more or less - - - and if he falls on hard times, the bank forecloses, and takes it all. Nothing is saved. All the improvements and all the money paid is gone, and the extortioner takes it all.
It is the same with farmers. A farmer works the land for years. Perhaps his father and grandfather farmed the same land. And when hard times came, and crops failed, and crop prices plummeted - - - along came the extortioners to claim it all. When the auctioneer's hammer falls, a life is ruined, and it is all gone.
But today, the extortioners have another plan. A farm is no good without a farmer, so the extortioner calls in the farmer's loan, and repossesses his farm - - - but lets the farmer remain to farm the land for the extortioner. He then becomes a tenant farmer. The farmer is told what to plant, how to fertilize, how to spray his crops, and where to market the product he produces. The same thing has happened to businesses. Businesses are owned by the extortioners, and they hire people to run these businesses. Paul warned the Corinthians:
"But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat." I Corinthians 5:11
Extortioners are not in a very good class of people. Paul puts the extortioner into the same class as fornicators, covetous people, idolaters, railers (reviler), and drunkards. Then Paul gives us a list of those who will not inherit the Kingdom of God:
"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the Kingdom of God." I Corinthians 6:9-10
Again, Paul's list includes the extortioners. He adds to this list fornicators, idolaters, effeminate (male prostitutes), and abusers of themselves with mankind. Paul is speaking of sodomites. To this list, Paul adds thieves. None of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. We can plainly see what God thinks of the extortioner (bankers), and the list God includes them in. God's destroying wind of judgment is going to blow upon this godless system of finance in this nation.
God has warned against the taking and giving of usury from the beginning of time, and God's destroying wind of judgment will blow upon all those who continue in this abomination to our God. Luke recorded Jesus' words:
"And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye: for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again." Luke 6:34
Sinners lend to sinners. Again, we see and understand what God thinks of extortioners who lend on usury. God also assures the nations.
"And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all His commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:" Deuteronomy 28:1
All those who hearken diligently to the voice of the Lord, and heed His commandments, will be set on high above all other nations. This is what God did for the United States as long as they listened to His voice. Then God makes this promise:
"The Lord shall open unto thee His good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow. And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:" Deuteronomy 28:12-13
As stated before, this nation used to lend to many nations, but now it has become the largest debtor nation in the world, borrowing from whoever will lend them money. This, God also promised.
"But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee. He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail." Deuteronomy 28:15 & 44
This nation has truly become the tail, because it has forsaken God, and has turned to idols. God has given us His assurance to the righteous:
"But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for He is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil." Luke 6:35
Those who follow God's Word to the letter, and are guided by the Holy Spirit shall be the children of the Highest. The word children is the Greek word HUIOS and means "son or sons." And as Jesus declared unto John:
"He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be My son." Revelation 21:7
Only the overcomers are inheritors. All others will be dealt with in God's severity. God's people need to get their finances into their own hands, and out of the hands of the extortioners, the Wall Street thieves, and all other worldly investments before God's destroying wind blows upon all their treasures and takes them away. This nation's economy is going to fail, but God's people can be protected.
The American Governmental System
This great nation got its beginning when the pilgrims landed at Plymouth in 1620. Those who disembarked from the Mayflower were not only desiring religious freedom, but included those who were just seeking freedom from the oppressive rule of the King of England. They began to build a nation. Other nations also joined their search for free land and freedom.
The more successful the colonists became, the more oppressive the King of England became with his unfair taxes. The King sent troops to make sure his taxes were paid. He became more and more oppressive, until the colonists were pushed into revolt. This was a little over one hundred and fifty years after the Plymouth colony had been established.
The British Empire stretched all over the earth. They were the most powerful nation on earth. But with God's help a ragtag, ill-equipped, ill-clothed, ill-trained army defeated this most powerful nation on earth. God intervened in so many ways.
This was the birth of the great nation, the United States of America. They began to seek a man to become the head of this new idea, and several men were selected to be President. But none could handle the job. So the newly formed government sent for George Washington, in an attempt to induce him to head the nation. George had returned to his beloved farm at Mount Vernon after he had led the continental army to victory, and was reluctant to leave. When they told him they would make him king, he angrily replied, "This nation has but one King, Jesus Christ." Reluctantly, George accepted the job.
But it took several years for the Continental Congress to agree on a Constitution and a Bill of Rights. These were the greatest documents ever written by mankind. This nation's rulers were statesmen, whose only interest was the welfare of the people and the states.
This fledgling nation was a new system of government. Many of the ideas on how the government was to work came from the writings of Oliver Cromwell. Through trial and error these new leaders made it work.
Thirty-seven years after the revolution, this nation was once again attacked by the British Empire. Again, the British Empire was defeated, and again statesmen got the victory, and God was glorified.
This nation began to grow, and move westward. In 1848 gold was discovered in California, which was then a Mexican colony - - - and Americans moved West in groves.
Then in 1865 the Civil War broke out. This divided the nation. But God had a man in the White House - - - who was seen in the wee hours of the mornings, praying for God's direction.
It was less than fifty years later that the United States was embroiled in the First World War. This is the first time the United States had to defend itself outside its borders. The United States set an example to all the world that it had the ability to defend itself against all forms of tyranny.
Again, less than thirty years later, this nation was attacked by Japan, and it became involved in the Second World War, fighting many fronts: against Japan and Germany. Again the United States of America prevailed, because it was a Godly nation. God was given the credit for every victory.
But it was during the Second World War, the American home began to deteriorate because the women were taken out of the home, and put in the work place.
Government changed. No longer was the government run by statesmen, but politicians began to rule. Lobbyists began their dastardly deeds, and many tried to profit from the war effort.
Greed and corruption began to replace Godly men - - Godly counsel gave way to `think tanks' and `witchcraft'. This cancer began to eat away at the very foundation of this nation. Every time Congress and the Supreme Court met, they legislated against God - - - the one, true God of the Constitution.
Soon the freedom of religion guaranteed by the Constitution was replaced by every false god, man could conjured up. God's destroying wind of judgment began to blow upon this nation. This destroying wind comes in many forms: forest fires, floods, mud slides, tornados, hurricanes, and many other what is often termed `natural disasters'. The prophet Jeremiah spoke of another judgment upon this nation:
". . . a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed." Jeremiah 50:37c
What was once the most prosperous nation on earth, had become the biggest debtor nation on earth. Those who were elected as the heads of this nation, have become the basest of people. Sodomites, drug addicts, drunkards, and thieves have supreme control. This, too fulfills God's Word. The prophet Daniel, by the Spirit, proclaimed:
"This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the Word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the Most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will, and setteth up over it the basest of men." Daniel 4:17
This nation is being ruled by the basest of all mankind, whose only interest is to line their own pockets with the tax payers money, and to be reelected.
Once we understand where the United States is in the Bible, then we can check to see what all the prophets have to say about her ultimate demise. The revelation John was given on the Isle of Patmos gives us insight into what will be the ultimate outcome of Mystery Babylon's sinful way of life:
"And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird." Revelation 18:2
When the United States allowed every false religion to take root and grow, then God's judgment was assured. John's revelation continues:
"For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies." Revelation 18:3
The merchants of the earth have become rich, by the abundance of this nation's luxurious way of life. The prophet Jeremiah made it very clear what will ultimately happen to the United States:
"And I will render unto Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, saith the Lord. Behold, I am against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the Lord, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out Mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain. And they shall not take of thee a stone for a corner, nor a stone for foundations; but thou shalt be desolate for ever, saith the Lord." Jeremiah 51:24-26
The United States has become the destroyer of all the earth, with its drugs, the poisons the world sprays on their crops, pornography, and the movies with their perverted ways of life. This nation exports all the sin that destroys the moral fabric of the whole world.
When God's judgment is complete, the United States will become a burnt mountain (kingdom), and no nation on earth will ever take one of this nation's ideas to build on again. This nation will become a desolation forever, thus saith the Lord! Let's look again at the revelation given to John:
"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her." Revelation 18:4-5 & 8
Yes, God's destroying wind of judgment will blow upon this nation until she is completely destroyed.
It was God who put into the hearts of the fathers of this nation and its statesmen to write those wonderful documents: the Constitution and the Bill of Rights in order to build a nation with justice and liberty for all. But the politicians have subverted what these great men had begun with God's help. But their day is coming, when God's destroying wind will bring them to their knees by His hand of judgment.
God's true people must never forget - - - what began with God, was destroyed by man. The shame and disgrace will never be erased for what the politicians have done with that which the statesmen began with Godly convictions.
The American Church System
As we look at the history of the church we can see how far it has digressed over the years. When the pilgrims landed, and for many years after, they had no building in which to hold services. Services were held outdoors and became known as `Grape Arbor Meetings' where the people openly, and with a joyous heart, praised God for what few things they had. In the winter they met in homes.
From the beginning the church was the center of all community activity. There were church socials, church picnics, and the churches were full on Sunday mornings. The church taught a high, moral standard - - - and sin was dealt with openly. When the church leaders found it necessary to deal with sin of any kind, it was dealt with in the church, and the malefactor was dealt with by the church leaders. If the person was found guilty, they were locked up, or placed in stocks until they repented, or changed their way of thinking. Their sin was posted on the door, or the stake that held the stocks. This judgment was called penitence.
The church began to grow, and there were those who had different ideas as to what the Bible was all about. Soon other groups were formed with their own ideas. These became known as denominations. When God would move with His Spirit, revival would break out. Many would then form another denomination. Many new churches would spring up teaching their new doctrine. Before long the newness would wear off, and it was back to the status quo. The people would wait for another move of God.
In the mean while, the people would become entrenched into their denominations, proclaiming, "We are the only ones who have the truth of God." Then God would move again, and a new denomination would emerge. Then the same thing would happen. More churches would spring up, and more people proclaiming, "We are the only ones."
It was during the 1960s, the church began its drastic change. The Supreme Court ordered prayers out of schools. When this began, people began to doubt God. The children were kept from Sunday School and any Godly influence. Thus, the children began their destructive ways of life.
Rock and roll music was what the children now listened to, with its messages of rebellion. Drug use and rebellion against all authority began to permeate through every media source. Free love was the theme.
The churches began to change during these years, playing what was called `Contemporary Christian Rock', in attempt to allure the children back to church. Of course, they could no longer preach against sin or the abomination of living together without being married. The message of the blood of Jesus was offensive - - - so that, too, had to be taken out of the songs.
And yes, they even rewrote the Bible. Many new translations came on the market with altered and omitted Scriptures. This new `Christian' would only believe what they could understand with their carnal minds. So the virgin birth, the resurrection, and the ascension of Jesus off the earth also became unacceptable.
Unmarried couples now sit in the congregations with no conviction of their life styles. If an unmarried girl becomes pregnant, she is advised by many pastors to get an abortion. Abortion is an abomination unto our God.
Then the Sodomites came out of the closet, and they too were welcomed into this new idea of church. Many denominations ordained them to occupy the pulpits.
Alcohol and drug abuse became rampant in the church, especially among the leadership. Many leaders of the large denominations were found to be alcoholics, drug addicts, and sodomites. What a shame that had fallen on the church system. The prophet Isaiah foretold of what would happen to the church:
"His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant." Isaiah 56:10-12
His watchmen have become blind to the Word of God. Isaiah proclaimed, they cannot bark or give a warning of the impending danger the church is facing in our day. Isaiah declares they are greedy dogs, never having enough, always wanting more - - - more people, more money, bigger buildings, more vacations, more retirement - - - never satisfied with what they are given. These pastors have forgotten the words of John the Baptist when he was addressing the soldiers of his day "to be content with their wages," Luke 3:14c.
Then Isaiah foretold of the alcohol problem in church leadership. Many proclaim bring us wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink, and tomorrow will be more abundant than today.
These pastors have allowed many damnable heresies to come into the church. They teach `once saved - always saved' which states once you confess your sins unto Christ, no matter what you do or how you live, you cannot lose your salvation.
Then there are those who subscribe to the idea of `ultimate or universal reconciliation' which declares everyone on earth will be saved - - - yes, even the devil will ultimately be saved.
Many churches still teach a phony rapture which states that before tribulation comes upon the earth, God will miraculously wisk His people off the earth, and take them to God only knows where, until the tribulation is over. Then He will bring these who have not overcome, back to earth, and turn His Kingdom over to them. How foolish people have become to believe such lies! These damnable heresies are taught in the denominational seminaries, and this is all the pastors know and are allowed to teach.
But God has a plan for His people if they will only listen. The prophet Jeremiah spoke of what has happened to God's flock:
"My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place." Jeremiah 50:6
God's people are lost sheep, because their shepherds have caused them to go astray. They have gone from mountain to hill. They have lost the high ground where they could see the Kingdom of God. Now they are only on a hill, where they can only see the ugliness of the world. As Jeremiah proclaimed, they have forgotten their resting place. These have forgotten Jesus' words when He stated:
"Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28
Be assured, God has not forgotten His people, even though many of His people have forgotten Him. In the book of Timothy, Paul speaks of those who are satisfied with their denominational orders:
"Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." II Timothy 3:5 & 7
Those who set in today's denominational orders only have a form of godliness, but they deny the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives. They learn the same message week after week, but they never come to the knowledge of the truth. Paul warned that from such, we should turn away. Jeremiah warns these pastors what they can expect from God:
"Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and or your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel. And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape. A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the Lord hath spoiled their pasture." Jeremiah 25:34-36
God's judgment is going to be severe on those who have starved the flock with their watered-down messages. God's people are soon to discover that once they are saved, they are not always saved, and that all the people on earth are not going to be saved. Be warned, when you see the wrath of God all around you, and you are still here. When this happens, God's apostate leadership will discover they have no place of escape. The people will nail their hides to the big, sculptured door of the church. The cry of the shepherds will be heard because God has spoiled their pasture which they have fed upon all these years.
But, God has a plan for His people. The prophet Jeremiah explains:
"And I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed neither shall they be lacking, saith the Lord." Jeremiah 23:3-4
God is going to gather His people and set up shepherds over them who will teach them the true word of God, without all the changes man has added and subtracted from his Word. What a glorious day that will be. The apostle Peter warned us:
"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?" I Peter 4:17
God is going to judge His own house first, and His hand of judgment is going to fall upon all those who do not obey the gospel of God.
The church flourished as long as it gave the glory to God, and as long as the leaders of the church lived by a high, moral standard. But after the Second World War, the church discontinued to speak of sin. Some denominations took all reference to blood out of their messages and their songbooks. What used to be gross sin was no longer spoken of, in fear of losing members of the congregation.
It was only a few years back, that when two people lived together who were not married, they were outcasts in the community. Now they sit in the church pews, with no conviction. Girls, who become pregnant, are not admonished. Sadly, this state of affairs has become an every day occurrence.
How have all these damnable heresies come into the church? It is because the church leaders have turned away from God's Word, and only teach their denomination's doctrines which they received in the seminaries.
One may ask, "What will save the church, and turn the peoples' hearts back to God?" The answer is given to us in God's Word:
"If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." II Chronicles 7:14
If God's people who are called by His name, `Christians, Christ Ones, or InChristed Ones, will humble themselves and pray and seek His face - - - and if they will turn from their wicked ways - - - then, and only then, will God forgive their sin, and will heal their land (their mortal bodies). God continues His promise:
"Now Mine eyes shall be open, and Mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place." II Chronicles 7:15
Only then will God's eyes be opened and His ears attentive to the prayers that are made in the church. If God's people fail to do this, then His destroying wind will not only bring judgment, but wrath and retribution. Praise the Lord!
We could go on with the corruption on Wall Street, the corruption in the insurance corporations, and the corruption in the news businesses, but we need to know and be assured that God's destroying wind is blowing upon all this corruption, and will bring all these to their knees.
God's destroying winds are blowing upon their finances and their sin-ridden leadership. We need to heed the words of the apostle Paul:
"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." Galatians 6:7
God is going to deal with all those who mock Him and His Word through judgment, wrath, and retribution. And God's destroying wind will come and take them away.
