Jesus and
Cinderella

The beautiful Cinderella story has charmed millions. But few realize how much Jesus, Christians, and Cinderella have in common. Cinderella, had all that was rightfully hers taken from her and remained the hard working, loving, friendly, kind, patient, young girl who became the princess.
When Cinderella finally became the princess, it was the result of her fathers love, but she had been princess material since birth. Her father taught her virtue, love, honesty and that quality teaching endured even though her father was taken from her. She was able to prove the truth of his teaching even in circumstances that would have been overwhelming to most. Truly Cinderella's fathers' teaching stood the test in the fires of adversity and she learned obedience through the things that she suffered. A servant in her own home, used by crude stepsisters and mistreated by her evil stepmother, she remained quiet, sweet, loving and obedient. When the prince finally arrived Cinderella was ready. She had learned and proved the teaching of her father in her own experience.
When she became princess, it was only the revealing to the world of something beautiful that had been hidden. She didn't change to become the princess. She was simply revealed as the princess.
There are so many parallels in the life of Christ. He was hard working, kind and loving in the face of evil. He came into his own and His own received Him not. He became a servant in the world He created. He was despised and rejected by men. Many of His friends were the castoffs of society. He learned obedience through the things that He suffered, and was revealed as the King in His glory at the proper time. But like Cinderella He was always royalty. He was always King. Nothing changed inside him at His revealing. He was only shown to the world for what He really was.
The day is coming when Christians, sons, and daughters of God will be revealed, exactly as they are without intentions or pretensions, for everyone to see. There will be surprises in that day. Many a Cinderella Christian will take a throne to the astonishment of the ignorant and evil.
But the pattern is always the same. Christians find themselves in an evil world with a call on their lives. Like Moses, some may try to fulfill the calling their own way with disastrous results. They are like a Cinderella turned into a screaming, whining, shrew, so intent upon their own way and ministry, that character and obedience are forgotten.
Cinderella's, dreams, ideas, nature and plans all revealed to her, that she was a princess. The world wasn't made aware of the fact till later. Christians who "Faint not in well doing will reap in due season", according to the scripture. The Lord God has a plan for every one of His children and the end of that plan is the revealing to the entire spirit world, "the sons of God," Romans 8:18-24.
Your day dreams, ideas and plans, those stories you play out in your mind are supposed to show you what you are. You can judge yourself, princess or stepsister? That last great revealing will certainly show many Christian Cinderella's for the princesses they are. On the other hand Christians who believe or live as if they believe that the Lord is going to change lazy, conceited, proud, sneaky, even evil servants into princesses will be rudely awakened on that day.
The Bible says our bodies will be changed, our characters are supposed to have changed when we were born again and to have been perfected by circumstances.
For now, if you are a Christian in a Cinderella situation, rejoice, in the circumstances, rejoice in Him, because the time for your unveiling will come.
