Not My Will But Thine Be
Done
by Lilla E. Green
What Time Is It?
It's time to labor - to work while it is day;
It's time to strive painstakingly,
And to put away the play;
Sleeve-rolling-up time......
Travailing....toiling in mind....
Availing much.......
Knowing that our labor is not in vain,
if it's IN THE LORD!
So plod on - tread on -
Let's work out our salvation,
Sharing and being offended
Dismissing ought - prayers are rendered.
Seventy times seven,
We smile through our tears,
Having a readiness to forgive.
God sees - God knows - God cares.
With a burdensome weight,
Our Lord plodded forward uUp a dusty road.
Our Saviour strode despising the shame -
Bearing the blame.... Sweating with drops as large as blood,
Agonizingly - pressing on..... toward Calvary.
Let us press, Let us push, Let us bring forth sweet victory.
It's time to deal with hardness, rather than avoid it;
Touch it, taste it, handle it, Overcome it!
Fledgelings in the nest, We're pushed to the test;
Thrust out - by the Father's will to explore,
to soar, to learn more about the Saviour's yoke.
What time is
it?
Suffering time on the Potter's wheel?
Time to be crushed before the reshaping;
Time to be pinched, pressured, before our remaking.
Vessels once marred . Vessels once scarred
Are being molded as our weights are unloaded.
And our lives are defined.
We realize the purpose of God's time.
He made time for you and me -
Now, He's making you and me for a TIME.

God's Necessary Furnace of Purification
How can we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? We must "arm ourselves likewise with the same mind, for he that hath suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God." (I Peter 4:1) Say not that ".... God has put this test on me...." for God tempts no man. But rather, when we're faced with tests and trials, obedience provides a way of escape. Faith in a sure victory releases the mind from overwhelming fear of failure. Patience is the rowboat provided for our rescue, if we pick up the oars of love and understanding and row our way out IN VICTORY.
And when it's all over - we will have received God's SEAL of approval and certification upon our lives. We'll feel that stamp of approval as He inscribes it upon our minds, renewing the spirit of our minds and changing our former thoughts and philosophies to fit His will - His plan - for us.
What joy we can expect to feel when our entire souls - the passions, the desires, the appetites, and the emotions - have been written upon by the "finger of God." Our Heavenly Father will lead us to understand why He's been postponing some of our prayer requests, as we submit, surrender and succumb to the personal laws He has engraved on the table of our hearts - laws to live by, to work by, to raise our families by and to just "get by." When gold comes out the firing furnace, it's shiny, smooth and purified. It's refined and more precious than it was before it was put into the furnace. Similarly, we're jewels - being made up for God. We are the precious gems of the Lord.
Yea - Thus saith the Lord unto you this day..... ".... Surrender your heart, your will, your passions, yea - ALL of you - for I have a purpose for your life. Now - what say ye to these things.....?" saith your God.
Inspired by II Corinthians 11:23-30 and Hebrews 12:1-5.
