Choose Ye This Day Whom Ye Shall Serve

We have been living in troublesome times with the many uncertainties we face everyday. Things have become much more uncertain worldwide since the election in Israel. Barak the Dove was replaced by Sharon the Hawk. This is a fulfillment of the prophesy given by Zechariah:

"And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." Zechariah 12:3

When the Bible speaks in that day, it is speaking of the day God is going to pour out His judgment. He warns in that day He will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone (a heavy weight) for all the people.

Since Sharon has taken office he has changed Israel's policy of concession with the Palestinians to a hard line, no compromise policy. Arafat has vowed he will never give up his quest for Jerusalem, and Israel's determination to keep it can only lead to conflict. Not conflict with the Palestinians only, but with the whole Arab world. When Zechariah stated all those who burden themeselves with Jerusalem will be cut in pieces. Whoever takes Israel's side in this conflict will face the possibility of having their oil supplies cut, which would cripple all developed countries. As Zechariah declared, God has warned He would make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people. There is not a nation on earth who will not be affected by a Middle East war. Another warning Zechariah gave was that all the people of the earth would be gathered together against Jerusalem. Every nation who depends on oil will be forced to take sides. It will be a matter of backing Israel in this conflict or having oil. Another threat the Arab nations have is taking their monies out of the banks of the United States and Europe. They have billions of dollars in the banks in the United States alone. If they withdrew their finances, our banking system would collapse. Truly we live in that day when many of God's people have put their trust in the American way with its corrupt political system instead of looking to God for their needs. The American way and God's way are no longer compatible. Elijah declared,

"Choose you today whom ye will serve."
