The Great Household of
by George Kirkpatrick
As we begin to search for what God has planned for His creation man we are inherently led to the book of Revelation. Many view the book of Revelation as the book of the end times. As we come to a Spiritual understanding of the book of Revelation, we discover it is the revelation of Jesus Christ to His end time people. As we study this book we are given insight into the writings of Moses, the prophets, and the apostles. Therefore the book of Revelation contains our keys to open the whole Word of God concerning the end time events that are taking place all around us.
When we come to Revelation, chapter twelve, Jesus shows John a woman:
"And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars." Revelation 12:1
As we view this woman through Spiritual eyes, it becomes clear God is showing us His true church. Verse 1 reveals a great wonder appeared in heaven (the Spiritual realm of God). The word wonder means
". . . an unusual occurrence, transcending the common course of nature with miracles and wonders by which God authenticates the men sent by Him, or by which men prove that the cause they are pleading is God's. . ."
The great wonder Jesus is revealing to John is the woman. This is the revelation of what His true church is going to become at the end of the age.
This woman is going to witness and become part of the miracles and unusual occurrences, transcending the common course of nature. This woman is clothed with the sun. To understand this we must consider Malachi's writings. Malachi speaks of the day which lies directly ahead:
"For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear My name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in His wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall." Malachi 4:1-2
The SUN of righteousness shall arise and clothe those who fear His name with His righteousness. The prophet Daniel saw these who would make up the true church:
"And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever." Daniel 12:3
Jesus also spoke about the time of His judgment and wrath when He explained the parable of the sower to His disciples:
"The Son of man shall send forth His angels, and they shall gather out of His Kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity. And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear." Matthew 13:41-43
Paul also understood what God has planned for those who love Him:
"That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world." Philippians 2:15
So, as we understand who this woman is that is clothed with the sun, we are given insight into what is meant by having the moon under her feet. The moon represents God's judgment. These who are clothed in the righteousness of God are the overcoming church who have overcome the judgment of God.
The woman had a crown of twelve stars on her head. Twelve is the number of government. The woman is the overcoming church who will rule and reign with Christ one thousand years upon the earth. These will shine as lights in God's firmament.
"And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to His throne." Revelation 12:5
The man child company will rule and reign around God's throne, while the overcoming church will rule and reign with Christ upon the earth. So we need to understand who this manchild company consists of. The phrase man child means:
". . . those whom God esteems as sons, whom He loves, protects and benefits above others. In the Old Testament, it is used of the Jews, and of Christians in the New Testament; those whose character God, as a loving Father, shapes by chastisements, Hebrews 12:5-8; those who revere God as their Father, the pious worshippers of God, those who in character and life resemble God, those who are governed by the Spirit of God, repose the same calm and joyful trust in God which children do in their parents, Romans 8:14 and Galatians 3:26, and hereafter in the blessedness and glory of the life eternal will openly wear this dignity of the sons of God. Term used preeminently of Jesus Christ, as enjoying the supreme love of God united to Him in affectionate intimacy, privy to His saving councils, obedient to the Father's will in all His acts . . . "
This is the son the sun-clad woman brings forth, the elite of the elect. Today the popular teaching states we are all the same in God's eyes. This is true, but we do not all have the same calling, nor do we all have the same intimacy with God. So how do we teach the different positions we can attain to in God? We must look at His Word to find the answer:
"But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour." II Timothy 2:20
God's Kingdom is His great house. The word kingdom comes from two root words: king and domain. Those who are in God's Kingdom have willingly and obediently become His domain.
As Paul proclaimed to Timothy, God has vessels of gold, vessels of silver, vessels of wood, and vessels of earth in His great house - - - some will be honored and some will be dishonored. We can relate these divisions in God's great house (His Kingdom) to the Tabernacle in the Wilderness. In the Tabernacle there were three areas:
1. The Outer Court
2. The Holy Place
3. The Holy of Holies
Paul referred to the Holy of Holies saints as vessels of gold, the Holy Place saints as vessels of silver, and the Outer Court saints as vessels of wood and earth.
1. Outer Court Saints = Vessels of wood and earth
2. Holy Place Saints = Vessels of silver
3. Holy of Holies Saints = Vessels of gold
The Holy Place Saints
As Jesus related to John after the woman brought forth the man child:
". . . the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days." Revelation 12:6
The Holy Place saints are the priestly saints who will be in God's protected place for the three and one-half years of God's wrath and judgment. These priestly saints will minister to the Outer Court saints who must be purified in the great tribulation.
The period of one thousand, two hundred, and threescore days equals three and one-half years. This is the time when God is going to pour out His wrath (judgment) upon a sinful, wicked world who have turned their backs on their Creator. Jesus gives us further insight into the protection He will place upon the woman:
". . . the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent." Revelation 12:14
The period of time Jesus refers to here is:
a time (1 year), and times (2 years), and half a time (6 months) - - - or three and one-half years - - - or one thousand, two hundred, and threescore days.
In Revelation 13:5, this period of time is referred to as forty-two months, again three and one-half years.
The woman was given two wings of a great eagle. These are not physical wings, but a reference to God's delivering His people from Egypt. Moses recorded the words of God:
"Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto Myself." Exodus 19:4
Israel was not given physical wings, but supernatural protection from God for the forty years they wandered in the wilderness to bring them into their promise land.
When the woman flees to her protected place in the wilderness, God will bring her unto Himself, and take care of His called-out-ones for the three and a half years of His wrath. This time of fleeing will not be easy for the woman. Jesus related:
"And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth." Revelation 12:15-16
Again, this is a reference as to how God protected Israel from Pharaoh's army. The serpent cast out of his mouth (gave orders) to stop the woman from fleeing to her protected place in God. When Pharaoh realized that as many as six million of his labor force was fleeing, he sent his whole army after Israel, but the Red Sea opened her mouth and swallowed up Pharaoh's army. God has given the woman, His true church, this same promise.
The Outer Court Saints
The Bible reveals another division in God's great house in the tabernacle in the wilderness - - - the Outer Court saints. The Outer Court had no covering, neither do these saints have the Holy Spirit covering in their lives. The Outer Court saints are those who only have natural light covering God's Word. They have no Spiritual understanding of what God is speaking to them. The question arises, "Will the Outer Court saints have a place in God's Kingdom?" The answer is Yes! As we view the tabernacle in the wilderness, we see three openings.
1. The Gate
2. The Door
3. The Veil
All these openings lead to a higher calling in God. First is the gate that enables us to enter into the Outer Court where we deal with the sin in our lives. Next we come to the door that leads us to the Holy Place. Finally we come to the veil which leads to the Holy of Holies where we come completely out of the world into God's completed salvation plan. All who come through the gate have an opportunity to become part of God's Kingdom.
As we continue in Revelation 12 we discover:
". . . the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Revelation 12:17
When the dragon (satan) was not allowed to touch the woman, he went to make war with her remaining seed. These are those in the Outer Court who never came to maturity. Yes, they are still God's seed, but they must be brought to maturity in His wrath. God's judgment must begin at the house of God. His wrath is His mercy upon His immature seed.
This group of Outer Court saints does not have the Holy Spirit covering found in the Holy Place. These only have the testimony of Jesus Christ in their lives. These are those who never followed on to know the Lord. They only know what their denominational system has taught them. Paul described these Outer Court Saints in his second letter to Timothy:
"Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth." II Timothy 3:5-7
The Outer Court saints have denied the power of God, therefore they are never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. The truth is the Spirit of truth which will lead us into all truth.
Again, we discover there are three divisions of God's people. The Bible refers to these three groups as
1. The called
2. The chosen
3. The elect
The Outer Court saints have been CALLED into God's Kingdom, but as Jesus explained to His disciples:
"For many are called, but few are chosen." Matthew 22:14
The CHOSEN are those who have gone on through the door into the Holy Place. The chosen are those who have gone on into God through obedience to His Word. As Jesus related:
"Ye have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it you." John 15:16
God's chosen are those who have brought forth the fruit of the Spirit in their lives: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, lowliness, patience, and righteousness. These not only walk in the Spirit, they live by the Spirit.
The third group in God's great house are the ELECT These are those who enter through the veil into the Holy of Holies. Jesus promised:
"And then shall He send His angels, and shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven." Mark 13:27
God has gathered His elect out of every generation. As we study the Word, we discover yet another dimension in God's great house:
These three divisions again correspond to the
1. The Holy of Holies saints
2. The Holy Place saints
3. The Outer Court saints
"And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever." Revelation 1:6
God has two groups who will rule with Him as:
1. Kings from the Holy of Holies, and
2. The priests, ministering to His people from the Holy Place
As we check further in the book of Revelation, we discover the beloved John was in the Spirit on the Isle of Patmos on the Lord's Day (the seventh day). So what Jesus revealed to him was Spiritual. Jesus showed John the four and twenty elders around the throne:
"And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for Thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by Thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;" Revelation 5:9
Jesus was letting John see what God has planned for His people all over the earth. Then He revealed:
"And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth." Revelation 5:10
Again, Jesus revealed His kingship realm and His priestly realm, and both kings and priests shall reign on the earth.
Most believe they will rule and reign on earth, but they want to go to heaven to do this. God created man for the earth and the earth realm. Nowhere in the Bible does it say we are going to heaven when we die, or any other time. We have all been exposed to bad teaching. The Bible seems hard to understand because we try to justify the bad teaching with the Word. When we do this we become confused and confounded, and many have given up and simply accept the words of the bad, unscriptural, and unspiritual teachings.
Today many declare we are all going to rule and reign with Christ. So if everyone who calls themselves Christian are going to rule and reign, who are they going to rule and reign? And if all are rulers, then where are the ministers who take care of the needs of the people? This answer is found in the third group of saints, the Outer Court saints, or servant saints, who will serve God throughout eternity.
As Paul disclosed to Timothy, in God's great house there are vessels of gold, silver, wood, and earth. When Jesus showed John the woman in Revelation 12, it becomes evident the woman (the true church) is His great house, and out of the woman will come the true church:
1. His vessels of gold, the Holy of Holies saints, His elect, His King Company which is also called His Manchild Company
2. His vessels of silver the Holy Place saints, His chosen, His priestly saints who will be protected through the wrath
3. His vessels of wood and earth, the Outer Court saints, His called, the servant saints. These are those who must be purified and made whole in the wrath or judgment of God.
All three divisions make up the household of God. Paul related many times about the household of God. To the Galatians, Paul wrote:
"As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith." Galatians 6:10
All those who have faith in Christ are in the household of God. Having faith is not verbal faith. The household of faith is made up of those who not only believe, but do the will of God. James admonished those who only have a verbal faith:
"But be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." James 1:22
Yes, many have been deceived because they were told because they go to a certain church they are alright with God. But if you are a hearer of the Word, and not a doer of the Word, then you are not part of the household of God. To the Ephesians Paul proclaimed:
"That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world." Ephesians 2:12
The word commonwealth means "nation or citizenship. Those who are without Christ (the anointing) are aliens (foreigners) of the nation Israel. God has only claimed one nation as His own, and that nation is Israel. In the Old Testament the sons of Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel, was recognized as His nation Israel, but because of their sin and worshiping of false gods, they were rejected.
As Paul explained to the churches at Galatia:
"For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God." Galatians 6:15-16
Those who walk in Christ Jesus are the Israel of God. Peter related this same revelation:
"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light:" I Peter 2:9
Those who have Christ Jesus in their lives have become His holy nation, Israel. Those who do not have the anointing are not part of His nation Israel, or the household of God --- and because of this they are without hope in this world. Paul continues to expound to the church at Ephesus concerning Christ Jesus:
"For through Him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God." Ephesians 2:18-19
It is through Christ Jesus we become fellowcitizens with the saints of God to make up His holy nation which is the household of God. Paul continues:
"And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit." Ephesians 2:20-22
God's household is built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets. The apostles wrote the New Testament, the prophets wrote the Old Testament and Jesus Christ is the Cornerstone of both. The apostles and prophets make up the Holy Bible. It is our road map to get us through this life so we can again enter into the presence of God.
God has a body, and His body must be fitly framed together if we are to become His holy temple in the earth today. Many are waiting for the Jewish temple to be rebuilt in Jerusalem. The only temple God is going to inhabit is His temple built out of the living stones He is shaping and molding through chastisement and cleansing. Paul wrote to Timothy concerning the church of the living God:
"But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth." I Timothy 3:15
Paul was not talking about how we should act when we come through the doors of the building in which we gather to worship God. He was referring to how we should behave ourselves as the house where God dwells. We are the church of the living God, and we should be the pillars (strength) and ground (support) of the truth. Once we understand who we are, then we should be aware at all times we are His representatives in the earth. Paul furthers our understanding of this truth in his letter to the Hebrews:
"But Christ as a Son over His own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end." Hebrews 3:6
We are Christ's house. As Paul related to the Ephesians, we are the habitation of God, Ephesians 2:22. As God's habitation and part of His household, we need to hold fast the confidence (boldness) and rejoice, knowing who we are in God. The household of God is the only people on earth who have any hope or any future.
The Manchild Company
Knowing we are part of the household of God, we also need to know where we fit into God's great house. In order to do this we must look again at the revelation Jesus gave to John concerning His great house. We began by looking at the woman, who Jesus declared was a great wonder in the Spiritual realm:
"And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pain to be delivered." Revelation 12:2
This woman was in travail, about to birth something the world had never seen:
"And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to His throne." Revelation 12:5
The woman, the true church, was going to birth the Manchild Company who would rule all nations with a rod of iron. Earlier we looked at the meaning of the word manchild:
". . . those whom God esteems as sons, whom He loves, protects and benefits above others; those whose character God, as a loving Father, shapes by chastisements, those who revere God as their Father, the pious worshipers of God, those who in character and life resemble God, those who are governed by the Spirit of God, repose the same calm and joyful trust in God which children do in their parents. . .
We find by this definition there are seven requirements to be in this Manchild Company:
1. Those who have attained to the character of God
2. Those who have been shaped and molded through chastisement
3. Those who worship God as the Father in Spirit and truth
4. Those whose life resemble's Jesus
5. Those who are led totally by the Holy Spirit
6. Those whose trust is completely in God
7. Those who are obedient to the Father's will in every aspect of their lives
Jesus gives us insight into these manifested male sons in His revelation to John. As Jesus related, This Man Child Company was caught up unto God and His throne, Revelation 12:5.
"And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with Him an hundred forty and four thousand, having His Father's name written in their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps. And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault BEFORE THE THRONE OF GOD." Revelation 14:1-5
These are the same one hundred and forty-four thousand sealed in Revelation, chapter seven. As we come to a Spiritual understanding of God's number system, we know twelve is God's number of government. Jesus had twelve disciples. There were also twelve apostles. When Judas betrayed Jesus and hung himself, the twelfth apostle had to be appointed to take Judas' place before the Holy Spirit could come on the Day of Pentecost.
On the day of Pentecost there were one hundred and twenty in the upper room: 12 x 10, or 120. When we look at one hundred and forty-four thousand, this is 12 x 12 x 1000 which is to reveal God's perfect government. The one hundred and forty-four thousand are the Holy of Holies saints God will set up to rule on the earth for one thousand years.
Then, as Jesus related, the Manchild Company was caught up to God and His throne, Revelation 12:5. As we look at these one hundred and forty-four thousand, we discover they sang their new song before the throne of God, Revelation 14:3. These sang a new song only they could learn.
To look further at these one hundred and forty-four thousand, we also find that they had the Father's name written in their foreheads. To understand this we must look at the sealing of the one hundred and forty-four thousand:
"And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel." Revelation 7:1-4
These one hundred and forty-four thousand were sealed with the seal of the living God (the Father's seal). The angel declared those who were sealed were of the tribes of the children of Israel. Those who were sealed were not natural Israel, because there was no tribe of Dan or Ephraim. These tribes had been eliminated because Jeroboam had set up his idol calves in Dan and Ephraim. Those who are sealed in verse 4 are God's Spiritual tribes who walk in, and live by, His Spirit.
This one hundred and forty-four thousand group also were redeemed from the earth. The word redeemed used in this Scripture is not the normal word used for redeemed or redemption. The Greek word used here is AGOREZO which means "to purchase."
We further discover this group was not defiled by women (the apostate church system). These were not part of the church system, and were free from the religious spirit so prevalent in the church today. The spirit of religion says you are alright, and every other religion is wrong. Those who believe this deny God's great house.
Finally we discover this Manchild Company was made up of male virgins who followed the Lamb where ever He sent them. These are those who walk in the Spirit and are obedient to His Word. Jesus was the Word made flesh. The Man Child Company are those who were flesh, but have become the Word.
Everything God created He created male and female. God has His male virgins and He also has His female virgins which we will look at later.
The Manchild Company is God's Firstfruit Company. The word firstfruit is also an interesting word. It means "persons superior in excellence to others of the same class." The word used for firstfruits is derived from two Greek words: APO which means "separation" and ARCHOMAI which means "chief leader, ruler." So the Firstfruit Company are those superior in excellence, who are totally separated unto God, and have chief leadership and rulership abilities.
The one hundred and forty-four thousand have no guile or deceit in their mouths. This was only said of two other people in the Bible: Nathanael and Jesus. Deceit is the lowest from of lying. Deceit is when we say something to give a false impression of our intent. The one hundred and forty-four thousand are without fault before God and His throne. These are blameless and without rebuke before their God whom they serve faithfully. These have all seven of the qualifications of the Manchild Company.
This Manchild Company is compared to the High Priest in the Tabernacle. As the High Priest, this Manchild Company will rule and reign around the throne of God. Only the High Priest could enter into the Holy of Holies into the presence of God. If any other priest entered into the Holy of Holies, they would be struck dead. On the skirt of the High Priest's robes were golden palmagranates and bells. A series of palmagranates and bells circled his whole garment. Legend has it that a rope was tied to the priest's leg, and if there was sin in his life that was unatoned for when he entered the Holy of Holies, he would be struck dead, and the other priests were to drag his body out of the Holy of Holies. They could not enter in to retrieve the dead high priest's body. Only those without sin can and will enter into the Holy of Holies.
As stated before this Manchild Company was caught up to God and His throne. When asking most who call themselves Christians where God's throne is, the forth-coming answer is, "His throne is in heaven." As we consider God's throne, we know it is a place where the king has authority. If Christ is omnipresent and He is, then He is everywhere at the same time. So we must ask ourselves, "Where is God when He is not in all authority?" If the answer would be He is in all authority wherever He is, then we must come to the conclusion His throne is also everywhere, or omnipresent. Once we come to this conclusion, we realize that heaven is not a physical place, it is a Spiritual position we attain to. Paul related a Spiritual truth to the church at Ephesus:
"Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:5-6
The word quickened means "to make alive." Those who are made alive by the Spirit are already seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Christ Jesus is the risen, glorified Christ (the Father). Those who recognize Him in His present position are already seated with Him in the heavenly places. When we sit, it means we have entered into the Lord's rest, and have ceased from our own works to do His will, Hebrews 4:10. The Manchild Company are these vessels of gold who have ceased from their own labors, and have entered into God's rest.
The Vessels of Silver
In God's house there are also vessels of silver. These represent the woman who fled into the wilderness, (the Holy Place saints).
"And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days." Revelation 12:6
The silver vessels are the Holy Place vessels, the chosen of God, the priestly realm. The priests ministered in the Holy Place. These are the female virgins. These will be in God's protected place during the three and one-half years of God's wrath. Jesus proclaimed the female virgins:
"Then shall the Kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were wise, and five were foolish." Matthew 25:1-2
All these virgins were waiting for the return of Jesus, but only those who were prepared to go out to meet the bridegroom were called into God's protected place in the wilderness. Five of them were termed foolish. As we seek the truth as to why Jesus called the five virgins foolish, we are given the answer:
"They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps." Matthew 25:3-4
We know the oil represents the Spirit of God. The wise took extra oil in their vessels, but the foolish took no oil with them. The wise, who listened to the anointing, were prepared for the time of fleeing. The foolish took no heed to God's warning in His Word and from those God sent to warn them. Because of this, these foolish virgins were unprepared.
"While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him." Matthew 25:5-6
Today most of the church is asleep. As the writer of proverbs relates, ". . . they have settled on their lees, taking their ease . . ." . The apostle Peter also spoke of this time:
"Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the Word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:" II Peter 3:3-5
The scoffers are having their heyday. They cannot see the handwriting on the wall. All they can see with are the eyes of today. If they had a vision, it is gone. These have become willingly ignorant. They are not only ignorant of God's judgment, they are willingly ignorant. The word willingly means "they desire and wish and have in mind to be ignorant." These willingly choose to overlook, or do completely away with God's judgment of the flood (the earth standing out of the water and in the water). O yes, they are looking for His coming, but they overlook the words of Jesus when He warned:
"But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matthew 24:37
In the days of Noah, all God's creation had to flee into God's prepared, protected place. These willingly ignorant ones are those who did not prepare for the time of fleeing.
"Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps." Matthew 25:7
The word trimmed means they "lit their lamps." They had some oil (some anointing), but not enough to get them through the time they were facing.
"And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves." Matthew 25:8-9
When the foolish virgins discovered they did not have enough oil (anointing) for the situation they were facing, they wanted those who were prepared to share what they had. The wise virgins directed the foolish virgins to go back to those who had failed to prepare them for the time of fleeing to see what they had to offer.
"And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with Him to the marriage:" Matthew 25:10
Those who were prepared (the silver vessels) went into the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. These are His Holy Place, priestly saints who will reign on the earth. God has a place prepared for these vessels of silver who are prepared to go into the wilderness. The prophet Isaiah proclaimed the existence of our place in the wilderness:
"The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God." Isaiah 35:1-2
Those who flee into God's protected place will see the glory of the Lord revealed in each of those who have prepared their lives for this time. Isaiah continues:
"Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; He will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons, where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes." Isaiah 35:3-7
These are the green spots prepared by God for His people to flee into. Jesus revealed these places to John on the Isle of Patmos:
"And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads." Revelation 9:3-5
Nothing can hurt those who flee into the wilderness. As Isaiah stated, this wilderness place will blossom abundantly. There will be joy and singing in God's protected place of provision. The locust (the destructive power) will not be be able to touch those who have the seal of God in their foreheads.
As we related before the one hundred and forty-four thousand were sealed with the seal of the Father in their forehead. The vessels of silver have a different seal. Jesus gave John insight into this sealing when John was commissioned to write to the church at Philadelphia:
"Because thou hast kept the word of My patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, which is New Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from My God: and I will write upon him My new name." Revelation 3:10-12
Those who have kept the Word of God's patience will be made pillars in His temple. Because of their obedience, they will be kept from His hour of temptation (time of testing). These are sealed with the name of God and the name of the city of God which is New Jerusalem. These silver vessels are those who will make up God's Holy City, New Jerusalem, which is the bride of Christ, Revelation 21:9-10. Isaiah continued to reveal the place the woman will flee into:
"And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there: And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away." Isaiah 35:8-10
The highway of holiness is there. The only way we can walk on that highway is to be holy before our God. Nothing unclean or defiled will be allowed in this place. The fools who say in their hearts, "NO GOD!" will not err therein, Psalm 14:1. Only the ransomed and redeemed of the Lord will be there.
The ransomed of the Lord shall come to Mt. Zion. Mt. Zion is the New Jerusalem. When this time comes, God's silver vessels will enter into everlasting joy. There will be no sorrow or sighing in this place. Peter spoke of those who will see the glory of God:
"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light:" I Peter 2:9
The Holy Place saints are God's royal priesthood who will make up His holy nation, Spiritual Israel. They are a peculiar (purchased) people who have been CALLED OUT into the marvelous light of God's glory.
These wise virgins will reign with Christ on the earth for the one thousand year millennium. These are the wise virgins, the vessels of silver.
The Vessels of Wood and Earth
We have looked at the vessels of gold and the vessels of silver, now we need to look at the vessels of wood and earth. In the foolish virgins we discover the final separation in God's great house. We know who the vessels of gold and silver are. The vessels of wood and earth are the foolish virgins. Those who are not prepared to flee when the cry comes to go out to meet the bridegroom will suffer the judgment of God. When the five foolish virgins came to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, they found the door was shut:
"Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But He answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not." Matthew 25:11-12
The foolish virgins never had a relationship with Christ Jesus. These only knew what their religious doctrines taught. Jesus spoke of these when He related:
"Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord! Lord! have we not prophesied in Thy name? And in Thy name have cast out devils: And in Thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity." Matthew 7:21-23
The word iniquity means "lawlessness." The foolish virgins are those who have not kept the law of God which is His Word. As Jesus related, not all those who call Him Lord are going to enter into the Kingdom. Only those who do the Father's will will enter into His Kingdom.
Those who believe they will enter in by works will be told, "I never knew you. Depart from Me, thou workers of iniquity." Those who do their own works, build their own kingdoms, and buy from those who have nothing to sell will be no part of God's Kingdom.
We are given insight as to what these vessels of wood and earth can expect. In Revelation 12:14 we discovered the woman who fled into the wilderness was given two wings as a great eagle that she might fly into her protected place in the wilderness. Next we are informed:
"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Revelation 12:17
The word remnant means "those remaining of any number." The remnant only had the testimony of Jesus Christ. Jesus revealed this remnant to John after the sealing of the one hundred and forty-four thousand:
"After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb." Revelation 7:9-10
These are those who only had the testimony of Jesus when they stood before the throne of God. All they could cry was "Salvation!" The message of salvation is all they had in their lives. They never went beyond salvation into maturity (perfection). These never heeded the words of Paul to the Hebrews:
"Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment." Hebrews 6:1-2
These never went any further than the basic doctrines of their denominational orders. They never attempted to allow the Spirit to work in their lives to bring them into maturity. All they could talk about was their dead works and their faith. The apostle James declared:
"But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?" James 2:20
Every Sunday the message coming from the pulpit consists of the doctrines of laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment (hell). Heaven and hell - - - heaven for their denomination - - - and hell for everyone else. As John witnessed this great multitude standing before the throne crying, "Salvation!"
". . . one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? And Whence came they? And I said unto Him, Sir, Thou knowest. And He said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." Revelation 7:13-14
These are those who came out of great tribulation. If they came out of great tribulation (the wrath) that meant they were in the tribulation. One of the false teachings that has permeated the church is the false hope of a rapture. This false teaching has become many churches' whole plan of salvation. Those in Revelation 7:13 who have white robes on and palms in their hands did not enter into the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. They had to wash their robes and make them white in God's wrath.
When Jesus went with the centurion to heal his servant, He revealed to those who followed Him:
"And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the Kingdom of heaven. But the children of the Kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Matthew 8:11-12
Many shall come to sit down in the Kingdom of God, but the children of the Kingdom shall be cast out where there shall be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. This is the wrath, the judgment, the great tribulation of God on this evil generation. Notice, the ones who are cast out are not the children of the world, but the children of the Kingdom. The children of the Kingdom are those who never came to maturity. When Luke recorded this even, he stated:
"But He shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from Me, all ye workers of iniquity. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the Kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. Luke 13:27-28
The workers of iniquity are the foolish virgins who did not have enough faith or anointing for the days ahead. The elders around the throne explained who this multitude is:
"Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple: and He that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." Revelation 7:15-17
The multitude before the throne who only knew the message of salvation will serve the Lord day and night. These are the servant saints, the Outer Court saints, the wood saints --- and God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.
These will weep before God because they did not believe His Word, nor did they fulfill His will. These are those who were martyred in Revelation 11. As Jesus revealed to John, the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed.
This was also revealed to John. Speaking of the beast government (the one world order with its false religious system), Jesus speaks to John about the beast government that is about to come upon the earth:
"And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months." Revelation 13:5
The forty-two months is the three and one-half years of the wrath of God.
"And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, and His tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations." Revelation 13:6-7
He was allowed to make war with the Outer Court, wood saints and to overcome and kill them. John was shown what would happen to those foolish virgins who were not in God's protected place:
"And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them." Revelation 11:7
These are those who only have the testimony of Jesus Christ and cry "Salvation" before God's throne. The beast (the one world government) shall make war with those who are not in God's protected place. He will be allowed to overcome these saints and kill them.
As we view this through Spiritual eyes, it becomes clear these Outer Court, wood saints who are not overcomers in this time will need to overcome in the wrath.
"And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified." Revelation 11:8
The great city is Mystery Babylon (the United States of America) which has spiritually become Sodom and Egypt (the world) where they have crucified the Lord Jesus and made His name and His ways a mockery.
After these saints have laid in the streets for three and one-half days, God will perform a mighty miracle for all the world to see:
"And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them." Revelation 11:9-12
When the martyrdom of God's tribulation saints is complete, the whole world will rejoice until they witness these dead saints being resurrected into the Spiritual realm of God. Jesus ascended off the earth in a cloud of glory, so will God's martyred saints. These are the Outer Court, wood saints who must be saved by fire, I Corinthians 3:15.
There is still one separation in God's great house. This is between the vessels of wood and the vessels of earth.
The Vessels of Wood
To identify the vessels of wood again, we must look at the tabernacle in the wilderness. The Brazen Altar, the Table of Shewbread, the Altar of Incense, and the Ark of the Covenant were all made of wood, overlaid with gold. Wood represents the flesh realm. Gold represents God, or the anointed covering of God. The vessels of wood are those who will be purified in the wrath of God. These are those who will finish their testimony through martyrdom. These will wash their robes of righteousness and make them white in the blood of the Lamb. These are also spoken of in the book of Jude:
"And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh." Jude, verse 23
The fire is the wrath of God. Those whose garments were spotted by the flesh will be made whole in the wrath by the Anointing. Their flesh will then be overlaid with God.
As we view these Outer Court saints, we come to understand the wrath is God's mercy in their lives. If God had to judge them in their present condition, they could never become part of His Kingdom. These servant saints will be part of His Kingdom, although they will not be part of the ruling and reigning saints found in the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies. They are still in the Kingdom, but will serve the Lord night and day in His Holy City, New Jerusalem.
Vessels of Earth
Paul revealed in the great house, there were vessels of wood and earth, some to honor and some to dishonor. The vessels of wood become vessels of honor. So what about the vessels of earth? These are vessels of dishonor. The word dishonor means "vile and disgraceful." As Jesus stated, ". . . all who cry, Lord! Lord! will not enter into the Kingdom of God."
The vessels of earth are those who will remain in the earthly realm, refusing to allow the Anointing to have any place in their lives. These are still a part of the five foolish virgins who were cast into the wrath of God, but these were not cleansed and made whole in the wrath. Jesus also revealed these unto John. Speaking of the wrath being poured out, Jesus states:
"And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds." Revelation 16:10-11
The vessels of earth are those who did not have enough oil in their vessels and did not answer the call of God in their lives, and still depended on the beast governmental system for their salvation. These would not repent, even when they were gnawing their tongues because of the pain. Jesus continued speaking about those who would not repent, even in the wrath:
"And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great." Revelation 16:21
When the plagues of the wrath come upon the earth, the earthly vessels of dishonor will blaspheme God because they know His judgment is upon their ungodly lives. These will suffer the same consequences as the rest of the world.
The apostle Peter proclaimed, "Ye are a chosen generation. . ." . All those who were chosen before the foundation of the world to live in this generation will be given the opportunity to become vessels of gold, silver, and wood. Those who choose to do God's will and become His Word can become part of His Kingdom age. Those who choose to hang on to the things of this life, and reject His anointing will be judged as earthly vessels of dishonor. These will suffer with those who refuse to have anything to do with God.
The final question is, "How are the vessels of wood going to make it through the wrath?" This is the ministry of the vessels of silver, the priestly realm, the Holy Place saints who will reign on earth, ministering to those who will be cleansed by the fire.
God has a Holy nation. It is the nation, Spiritual Israel. Those who become part of God's Kingdom are His Spiritual Israelites. The physical Israel of the Old Testament can also become part of God's Kingdom, but they must come the same way as we have today, through Jesus Christ.
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:12
Today, God's Israel is Spiritual, and the temple to be built is a Spiritual temple, an habitation of God through the Spirit. Peter spoke of God's holy nation when he declared:
"Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy." I Peter 2:10
God's holy nation will be made up of every race and color. These will be those who have obtained mercy by their obedience to God's Word. The prophet Isaiah was mystified by what God revealed unto him. He asked:
"Who hath heard such a thing? Who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children." Isaiah 66:8
Yes, God's Kingdom, His holy nation is about to be birthed on planet earth. Zion is in travail, waiting to birth God's Holy people for all the world to see. As we look at the words Paul wrote to Timothy about God's great house, we witness:
"But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour." II Timothy 2:20
The vessels of wood are holding on
The vessels of silver are going on
The vessels of gold are overcoming
Each of us needs to ask what vessel we are in God's great house? If we are holding on, we need to go on. If we are going on, then we need to overcome. The veil has been rent. Any, and all, who have prepared their vessels as gold, silver, or wood can enter into God's Kingdom.
