God has given insight into His Word through the names given to His people and the places where they lived. When we study out these names and places we can understand God's message to His end time people who are called by His name. Hosea was a prophet in Israel who for over fifty years prophesied a prophecy against Israel that is true for today, especially God's end time lukewarm church:

" Hear the Word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood." Hosea 4:1-3

Hosea prophesied this in the fourth chapter. What led up to God making this rash judgment upon the people and the land? Hosea recorded it was because there was no truth, no mercy, and no knowledge of God in the land. This is true today in this land, the United States of America, but it is also true in the church system.

Swearing, or cursing, which is using God's name as a curse, and lying are both acceptable in our day. Killing, stealing (crime), and adultery - - - does this sound like our day? They break out, or there is no more restraint in their lives. Blood toucheth blood. Killing, cheating, lying, and committing adultery are all we hear of in the news today, not only in this country, but also in the church. God promises:

"Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away." Hosea 4:3

God's judgment will take away the beasts of the field, the fowls of heaven, and the fish of the sea. Everything man depends upon for food will be taken away. Our total dependance must be upon Him.

Hosea gave us God's reason for judgment upon the land and upon the church:

"The beginning of the Word of the Lord by Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the Lord." Hosea 1:2

Why is God's judgment upon the land? It is because God's people have departed from the Lord by committing great whoredoms. Why did God tell Hosea to marry a whore? This was to demonstrate, that in God's eyes, the people and land had turned away from Him. What did Jesus call the United States in the book of Revelation? He called her the great whore. This land, whose beginning was of God, has become the great whore, departing from God and prostituting herself for the things of the world.

We need to look for God's messages He has hidden in the names of the people for our day. The name Hosea means "to save, or salvation." This is all the church talks about today, "Being saved."

"So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and bare him a son." Hosea 1:3

The name Gomer means "completion." The name Diblaim means "two fig cakes." The union between Hosea and Gomer, (the completion of God's plan of salvation) produced a son.

"And the Lord said unto him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel." Hosea 1:4

The name Jezreel, means "God shows." To understand this we must look at what Jehu did to bring God's judgment. Jehu was the son of Jehoshaphat and was made king over the ten northern tribes of Israel. Ahab had died, but his wife Jezebel had rule over her son Joram. It was Jehu's job to rid Israel of Joram, Jezebel, and all of Ahab's sons. Jehu killed Ahab's seventy sons and brought their heads in baskets to Jezreel, and put them in two piles before the gates of the city, "II Kings 10:7-8."

Hosea also prophesied the destruction of Israel, saying God would cause the house of Israel's kingdom to cease. This God did in 721 B.C. when the Assyrians defeated Israel and scattered them to the four winds.

"And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel." Hosea 1:5

The valley of Jezreel was where Israel was defeated by the Assyrians and taken captive. Hosea's prophesy Has come true concerning Israel, but looking at the names to get God's complete message to His end time people, we must look at the name Gomer which means "completion;" and Diblaim, her father which means "two fig cakes." These two names represent the two Israels: natural and spiritual.

Through Hosea we can discover God's complete plan of salvation. These two fig cakes represent the relationship mankind has with their God. Throughout the Bible, we discover these two fig cakes represent the worship of God. One represents the unleavened worship of God, or true worship without sin.

The other cake represents the leavened cake which represents worship mixed with sin. This worship represents good mixed with evil. This we see in the church system today. Those who pretend to worship God are mixed with the ways of the world. They are still partaking of the tree of good and evil. Their leavened worship is not acceptable to God.

Hosea continues to reveal to us the condition of the two fig cakes, natural and spiritual Israel:

"And she conceived again, and bare a daughter. And God said unto him, Call her name Loruhamah: for I will no more have mercy upon the house of Israel; but I will utterly take them away." Hosea 1:6

The name Loruhamah means "no pity, or will show no mercy." When Israel fell into false worship, then God's mercy was no longer upon them. And God would utterly take them away. It is no different then between natural and Spiritual Israel. When the unleavened worship becomes leavened with the world, God will show no mercy upon them.

This is where the modern church has come in our day. They have become the church of the Laodicean which Jesus revealed to John on the Isle of Patmos:

"I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of My mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:" Revelation 3:15-17

Unfortunately most of the modern church is not even lukewarm. They believe their worship of God is to show up on Sunday morning for the same dry message they heard last week. They are truly wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked (without the Spirit) in the sight of God.

The word Laodicean means "the people's rights." The modern church believes they have the right to do what they are doing. The prophet Jeremiah warned the people of Israel, and his warning is for the modern church:

"Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; and come and stand before Me in this house, which is called by My name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations? Is this house, which is called by My name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the Lord." Jeremiah 7:9-11

This is where the modern church has come to with their once-saved-always-saved message, the teaching of the rapture, ultimate reconciliation and many other false teachings. God speaks through the pen of Jeremiah as to what the people can expect if they do not repent:

"But go ye now unto My place which was in Shiloh, where I set My name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of My people Israel." Jeremiah 7:12

Shiloh was where Israel had set up the tabernacle, and because Israel had turned to idol worship and had forsaken God, He allowed the Philistines to capture the Ark of the Covenant which represents God's presence, provision, protection, peace, preservation, power, and praise. This same warning is for the modern church. Jeremiah continues:

"And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the Lord, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not;" Jeremiah 7:13

God has been speaking to the church system for some time to repent, and they have not heard. He has continued to call them, but they have not answered. Instead they continue in their lukewarm condition - - - and as God has promised - - - He will vomit them out of His mouth. Hosea continues:

"Now when she had weaned Loruhamah, she conceived, and bare a son. Then said God, Call his name Loammi: for ye are not My people, and I will not be your God." Hosea 1:8-9

The name Loammi means "not my people." God rejected His people, Israel, because they had rejected God's complete plan of salvation by mixing good with evil in their worship of Him.

But God did not leave His people Israel without hope. He still has a plan for His people - - - both houses - - - natural and Spiritual Israel. God does not leave His people without hope. Even though Israel sinned against God's complete plan of salvation, He has a plan for them.  [see "The Two Witnesses" by George Kirkpatrick]

"Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, (the sandseed)which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not My people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God." Hosea 1:10

Where was this prophecy fulfilled? In the New Testament, Paul declares:

"As He saith also in Osee (Hosea), I will call them My people, which were not My people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. And it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not My people; there shall they be called the children of the living God. Esaias (Isaiah) also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved: For He will finish the work, and cut it short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth." Romans 9:25-28

Paul quoted Hosea 1:10 when he related although Israel was as the sand of the sea in number, only a remnant would be saved. Only a remnant will partake of God's complete salvation plan. God will finish His work in this remnant of His people, and it will be a short work. [see "God's Holy Remnant" and "The Starseend and the Sandseed" by George Kirkpatrick].

Peter also proclaimed what Hosea prophesied:

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy." I Peter 2:9-10

What Hosea prophesied was for a chosen generation of people who have been called out of darkness. Those whom God proclaimed were not His people will become His people. Those who had not obtained mercy (Loammi) will obtain mercy. How? It is through Jesus Christ. It is by God's grace and truth that mankind will obtain mercy - - - Mercy lost - - - to Mercy regained! [see "God's Last Day Chosen Generation" by George Kirkpatrick]

"Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel." Hosea 1:11

The people of Judah (praise) and the people of Israel (rulers with God) will become one and appoint themselves one head. This will be when Christ becomes the head of His body. This will be the great day of Jezreel when the two cakes will become the true worshippers of God. These two cakes will become praise and worship in natural and Spiritual Israel. [see "The Two Witnesses" by George Kirkpatrick]

Hosea gives God's people hope in salvation:

"Say ye unto your brethren, Ammi; and to your sisters, Ruhamah." Hosea 2:1

After Loruhamah (those who are shown no mercy) and Loammi (those who were not His people) come into God's complete plan of salvation their names will be changed to Ammi and Ruhamah. The name Ammi means "My people" and the name Ruhamah means "to have mercy and compassion."

When we come to Christ, not only our life is changed, but also our name is changed. When the Bible speaks of God writing our name in the Lamb's book of life, what name does He write? Does He write the old name or the new name He will give us?

Then Hosea addresses the church system, Gomer - - - and what the Gomer church has become.

"Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts; Lest I strip her naked, and set her as in the day that she was born, and make her as a wilderness, and set her like a dry land, and slay her with thirst. And I will not have mercy upon her children; for they be the children of whoredoms. For their mother hath played the harlot: she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink." Hosea 2:2-5

God is pleading with the mother church, the harlot church system, to repent and turn back to Him. Peter tells us judgment must begin at the house of God. Through Hosea we know God will strip her (the Gomer church) naked, and remove the covering of His Holy Spirit as He did in the Garden of Eden, and when Israel sinned at Sinai.

"Make her as a wilderness, a desolate place." This is what the church has become in our day. It is a dry land, and God will slay her with thirst. A thirst for what? The prophet Amos tells us:

"Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:" Amos 8:11

The church system is dying of thirst for God's true Word. God will not have mercy on the children who are a part of the harlot church system (the Gomer church). As Hosea proclaimed in verse 5:

". . . she that conceived them hath done shamefully: for she said, I will go after my lovers, that give me my bread and my water, my wool and my flax, mine oil and my drink." Hosea 2:5

Those who are part of the harlot church system (Gomer) spend their money for the worldly things instead of the things that produce life. This is how they are taught in their denominational orders. They do as the leaders of their religious systems teach. "She that conceived them hath done shamefully."

The prophet Jeremiah predicted:

"The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?" Jeremiah 5:31

The people love to have it so. Whatever the preacher says, it makes it OK. Hosea continues:

"Therefore, behold I will hedge up thy way with thorns, and make a wall, that she shall not find her paths." Hosea 2:6

Those in their denominational orders wonder why their lives are so hard. When they have trouble, they blame the devil, instead of realizing it is God who is hedging up their way with thorns and making walls they cannot go over or around. Though they try, they cannot find the ancient paths God planned for them to walk in.

"For she did not know that I gave her corn, and wine, and oil, and multiplied her silver and gold, which they prepared for Baal." Hosea 2:8

Hosea stated the Gomer harlot church system has prepared to give their God-given supply to Baal, the god of increase. The name Baal means "lord." Baal was translated owner, husband, and master. Many today in the church system have given themselves over to the worship of Baal. He is their lord and master, and they have become slaves to him. Baal worship has crept into the churches. The teaching of the prosperity message demands from God all the worldly things God tells us to get out of our lives. Be not deceived! God's judgment is upon these Baal teachers.

"Therefore will I return, and take My corn in the time thereof, and My wine in the season thereof, and will recover My wool and My flax given to cover her nakedness." Hosea 2:9

God's judgment is sure upon the Gomer church.

"And I will destroy her vines and her fig trees, whereof she hath said, These are my rewards that my lovers have given me: and I will make them a forest, and the beasts of the field shall eat them." Hosea 2:12

We see God's judgment coming upon Israel, both natural and spiritual. But God is a merciful God. As Peter recorded, "It is not His will that any should perish." The sad part is, we know all will not turn back to Him. Hosea prophesied:

"Therefore, behold, I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her." Hosea 2:14

The phrase speak comfortably means "to speak to the heart of men."

"And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and the valley of Achor for a door of hope: and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt. And it shall be at that day, saith the Lord, that thou shalt call Me Ishi; and shalt call Me no more Baali." Hosea 2:15-16

The name ISHI means "man or husband." The name Baali means "lord." Hosea reveals in that day we will call God Ishi (or husband). We will no longer call him Baali (Lord). What is Hosea talking about here? We will call God Ishi. When we become the bride of Christ we will no longer be called servants of Christ, but we will call Him Ishi (husband).

"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the marriage of the lamb is come, and His wife hath made herself ready. And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. And He carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the Holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God," Revelation 19:7 & 21:9 & 10

His bride will be those who make up the Holy City, New Jerusalem. It is at this time, we will fulfill the words of John the beloved:

"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is." I John 3:2

We will see Him as He is because we will be like Him. We will become one with the Son, as Jesus was one with the Father.

The church system only knows him as Baali - - - Lord. They have no personal relationship with him. Marriage is the most intimate relationship two people can have.

In that day we will know Him as husband - - - Christ Jesus, the Risen, Glorified Christ, the King of Kings, the Everlasting Father, the Almighty God. [see "Christ Jesus" by George Kirkpatrick]

"And in that day will I make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground: and I will break the bow and the sword and the battle out of the earth, and will make them to lie down safely." Hosea 2:18

This day of prophesy lies directly ahead of us as we walk into God's seventh day. Isaiah prophesied of this day:

"The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord." Isaiah 65:25

The animals will no longer fear us, the bugs won't bite us, and the birds will sit on our shoulders. This will be the millennial reign of Christ. The earth will be at peace, and there will be no more death, no mourning. All will be at rest.

"And I will betroth thee unto Me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto Me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. I will even betroth thee unto Me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord. And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the Lord, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth;" Hosea 2:19-21

God has promised He will betroth us unto Himself forever. What a promise! He will betroth us in righteousness, judgment, lovingkindness, and faithfullness. These are the bridal garments, our robes of righteousness, we need to put on to become His forever.

In that day all will hear, and their thirst for the life giving Word of God will be quenched. Isaiah also speaks of this coming new day:

"And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear." Isaiah 65:24

God will answer our prayers before we even speak.

If we consider the day we live in, this is only the time of preparation for what God has promised His creation from the beginning of time. [see "Day of Preparation" by George Kirkpatrick]

"And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel. And I will sow her unto Me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not My people, Thou art My people; and they shall say, Thou art My God." Hosea 2:22-23

The people will hear. The word hear means "to respond." All the earth - - - our corn, our wine, and our oil will be assured - - - and all will hear Jezreel, or they will know God has saved them permanently in the earth.

Hosea confirmed God is going to sow His people in the earth. God will say, "These are My people. These are the ones I died for." And the people will forever say, "This is the God I serve."

God has declared what it takes to come into His presence and not be part of His coming wrath. We can be as Loruhamah and Loammi and receive no mercy, nor be His people - - - or we can change our name to Ruhamah and Ammi and obtain God's mercy and be called the children of the living God.

Hosea's name means "We will be saved and complete."  This is God's plan of eternal salvation. God is calling His remnant to repent of their worldly ways so they can be part of His coming Kingdom. Praise the Lord!

The Great Day of Jezreel is at hand for those who are seeking their God and are wholly desiring to walk in His ways.
