An Open Letter to the Body of Christ: Coming Attractions September 1, 2008
When we were children and went to the movies, they had what they called "Coming Attractions". They would show previews of movies that would be shown the next week. This was to entice us to save our quarter to go to the movies next Saturday - - - fifteen cents for the movie, five cents for a box of popcorn, and a five cent coke.
If the Lord would give us a glimpse of the "Coming Attractions" which are soon to come upon planet Earth, we would not want to be part of these "Coming Attractions." Instead, we would rather go to some far off planet, and view these "Coming Attractions" from afar off. But as we all know, this is not an option. There is only one way through these coming events, and that is through preparation.
Let's preview some of these "Coming Attractions." We have all heard about Russia attacking Georgia. But what the national controlled news media failed to tell us was, it was Georgia who attacked South Ossetia at the urging of President Bush, Vice President Chaney, and his Israeli Zionist counterparts. Bush was trying to get Georgia's president, Mikheil Saakashvili to join NATO through the objections of Western Europe, who depend on Russia for much of their oil supply. The pipeline that supplies their oil runs through Georgia. Bush is trying to circle Russia with countries friendly to the United States. Because of this, Russia is using threatening tones against the United Sates and its Israeli allies. The tensions are as high as they were during the Reagon administration, when the United Sates was engaged in a cold war with Russia. Is Bush pushing us toward Word War III and Armageddon?
Another "Coming Attractions" is the collapse of the banking system. We have witnessed several bank failures and takeovers, many of which have not been reported by the controlled national media. The housing melt down has left thousands homeless, living in cars in parking lots and in vacant fields. These who have lost their homes have children and no place to live. The government has thrown some money at the problem, but it only continues to get worse.
The earth is tottering on the brink of bankruptcy, and the only answer this nation has is to borrow more money, and sell national assets. America is "For Sale", and foreign investment has never been higher. These investors are buying up banks, high rise buildings, bridges, highways - - - even the shipping lines are for sale. These are only a few of the "Coming attractions" we see on the horizon.
So has our God forsaken planet Earth? Hardly - - - He is getting a people ready for the greatest anointing and work that He has ever accomplished. We do not need to fear the coming days. God's ways are not the world's ways. His ways are higher than those of the world's. While the world is going down hill on roller skates, God's people are preparing for the greatest day the mind cannot even imagine - - - a day of release, of day of freedom, and a day of blessing. As Malachi related:
". . . if I will open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." Malachi 3:10b
God has made great and wonderful promises to those who love Him, honor Him, and live by His Word. This is the Day of Preparation, when all who know and realize we are living in the last day. Everyone of God's people should ask themselves, "Where is my trust?" Is it in the dollar? It will fail. Is it in the banks? They will close. Is it in the government? It, too, will let you down. So where should our trust be? There is only one place, and that is in the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will never leave us or forsake us. As we look at the "Coming Attractions", then we know we only have one to turn to, only one we can count on. Praise the Lord!
