God does not have a reverse. One Kingdom principle is order. In that order, you cannot stay stagnant in one place, neither can you go backwards. In God's order you must continue to move forward. If we are to reach forth to those things which are before us, we must go ahead. We must grow up into the head. We must give Christ, the Head, pre-eminence in our lives.
How we receive change in the Holy Place is a four step process:
1 First we fight change
The flesh is not dead. It demands its own way over the Spirit. The Apostle Paul explained this in his letter to the churches at Galatia: "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would." *** Galatians 5:17 God must overcome our resistance through chastisement.
2 Secondly, we begin to accept change
When we realize change is necessary to come again into the image and likeness of God, we arrive at the second step. We begin to accept change in our lives. We may not like the changes God wants to make in our lives, but we have matured enough in our walk to know change is necessary, and we will accept it.
3 Thirdly, we expect change
As we become more proficient in the Word of Life, we know God must change us if we are to become acceptable in His sight. As we come to a deeper understanding of what we must become to enter into His presence, then we know God must change us, so we expect change.
4 Lastly, we demand change
We develop such a hunger and thirst to become as our example Jesus, that we cry out to God to remove the obstacles that separate us from His presence.
