The Birds, They Have No Hands
by Jeannie Kirkpatrick

No, they have no way of grabbing more than their share...
They have no way to pinch a nerve...
They will never have the ability to point an accusing finger...or slap a child of God.
They can never draw up a fist to harm...
Or open their hand in greedy grain...
They have no way of grabbing hold of wrong ideas...
Or letting go with deceitful dealings.

They will never be able to declare the works of their own hands.
A bird can only fly above all worldly situations...
It can catch the wind and soar above every storm...
It can quickly flee from harm's way..

A bird can also fly swiftly to the aid of another.
With its beak, it can taste of God's abundant provision...
It has the ability to crack the hardest seed coating to
receive its concentrated goodness...

It has learned to spit out all things that offend...
And partake of only that which truly satisfies.

A bird can drink of every cool, refreshing spring...
It's claw take a good, strong hold of any crevice...
Or twig or perch where no other can harm it.

Do the birds whine and complain because they have no hands?
Indeed not...
They are the Judahs of the heavenlies...
Their songs forever teach us:

"In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God..."
"All things work together for good..."

God made sure that the birds of the heavens
will never have to hold out their hand to beg...

They will never have their hands bound and thrown into prison...
They will never have to live a life of toil and labour...
No one will ever be able to cut off their outreach.
