~Welcome Friend~

Today we have set aside to move in the wood stove. 
How we longed for the day when we could remove it and clean up its mess. 
We gratefully put it out of the house last May, 
knowing the promise of beautiful summer days ahead 
without its needing our constant attention. 

Today it becomes our "welcome friend". 
"Come in my friend. 
We will spend some warm evenings 
gathered round your warmness in delightful conversations." 


"Come in! We have prepared a special place for you to sit. 
We want you to feel as if you are the center of importance in our family." 


"Make yourself at home. I will bring the basin and wash the dust from your feet. 
Such strong feet and legs you possess. You have borne much weight in your life time." 

"We hope you can stay for as long as you can. 
You are no trouble at all. 
We will be gald to fill you with that which you need to keep warm." 

"Thank you, Father, for this special friend 
who comes to visit every year without fail. 

Thank you, Father, for Faithful Friends."
