The Book Of My Life

I am the open book He is reading,
As He holds me close to His breast,
Turning the pages slowly,
I feel His heart beat heavy in His chest.

I wish He would read me faster
Skipping a chapter or two
Like pages where I wallow in a puddle of flesh
or when the storm clouds begin to brew.

I can feel Him tense as he watches me
Through these chapters of my life gone astray.
In my storms what I thought were rain drops
Were His tears as they landed on my page.

The weight of His tears as they mingled with mine
In the storms of my life brought me down in time.
This heavy burden of His love was a blessing in disguise
For it taught me how to bow and rise up in reprise.

No pages unturned, no chapters skipped over,
From beginning to end He holds me close to His shoulder
To Him no surprises that would make Him put me down
For He's my author and finisher......
and on every page of my life, His touches can be found!
