Whispers of the Dove

He waited so patiently throughout my life
For the day that I would run into His love
He tenderly pulled me with nail- scared hands
As He whispered to me through the Dove

Whispers so gentle I thought myself dreaming
How my heart longed to receive it as true
But my soul forbid me what my spirit could hear
So I waited

I heard it again like a song in my heart
Hushed whispers of seraphims' singing
Like the cooing of the Dove as He calls in love
Still I waited

I started longing for the nights when all was quiet
As I strained to hear the Dove's whispers
Now my heart leaps for joy at the sound of the Dove....
As He whispers
