Hover Over Me

Holy Spirit, gentle as a dove,
Come hover over me.
Sing a song, a song so sweet,
Entreat my heart be free.

Cover me with wings so tender
Like a butterfly in spring.
Drink from my life God-given nectar;
To the petals of my heart gently cling.

May I hold You with respect
For fear that I might wound
Or chase away the wings of heaven
That came unto my life to groom.

Implant in me the dew from Eden.
May I blossom in this desert like a rose.
Emitting a smell that is born in heaven,
A sweet savor from a life He chose.

Holy Spirit, gentle as a dove,
Come hover over me.
