My Secret Closet
by Kelly  Elliott

He always comes to me in my secret closet;
He enters into my stillness, to meet with me there.
Kings' palaces on earth can't touch this glory.
No rooms anywhere to this heaven compare.

I don't have to talk in this secret closet.
I don't fret over things I don't know.
I just have to bow to enter this chamber,
And in hunger I listen for His Spirits' sweet flow.

There's no room in my closet for pride or pomp;
No flattery of this flesh do I seek to gain.
There is just room to lift my heart to my Savior,
And hope in His mercy that He might come to reign.

As Heaven comes down and swallows the darkness
Chasing shadows that linger nearby,
Peace falls like a shroud and covers life's turmoil.
Weights lift like a vapor, as the Son rises high.

He makes me to drink from wells of glory,
Wells that were dug by nail-scarred hands.
Sweet River of Life, I thirst even greater
As deep calls to deep in my closet within.
