Common Remedies from items found in your
kitchen

Aloe juice from the plant leaves aid in healing burns, sunburn, and
minor skin irritation

Banana absorbs excess stomach acid and relieves pain from ulcers and
highly-seasoned foods

Bread will prevent choking from accidental swallowing of a fish bone

Butter prevents blistering and helps burns to heal. It must be
real butter from a cow or goat and not fake butter sold as
oleo, oleo margarine, or margarine

Cayenne Pepper helps reduce pain and ease arthritic pain and swelling
when used regularly -- similar in taste to black pepper but may be hotter
so you may want to use in smaller amounts

Garlic protects against bacteria, viruses, parasites, heart disease,
eliminates free radicals that cause cancer, lowers cholesterol, and improves
immune system. Fresh garlic cloves are best. When planted in the garden,
works as an insect repellant

Milk scalded [broght to a rapid boil for a few seconds] cures diahrrhea
and loose bowel -- adults should use about 1/2 to 1 cup; smaller amounts
for children -- relief is almost instant

Oatmeal as a daily breakfast is good for helping relieve stomach pain
caused by ulcers, excess acid, and highly-seasoned foods

Onion helps cuts, burns, and other injuries to heal faster when applied
topically. Eating raw onions aids in resistance to colds and viruses. When
planted in the garden, works as an insect repellant

Salt mixed in a mild solution with warm water, drawn in from the nose,
will relieve sinus pain, hayfever, and nasal allergy; a paste made with water
can be used to clean/kill mold and mildew in the home; rock salt can be used
in a basement or crawl space to prevent mold and mildew growth

Vinegar soothes pain and reduces heat from sunburn when dabbed on
the skin with a soft cloth or sponge.

Vitamin C eliminates symptoms of gouty arthritis when 4-6 grams are
taken daily; eliminates free radicals that cause cancer; improves immune
system; acts as an inhibitor of histamine production and reduces allergies;
promotes healing
