Even with the recent devastation from the Tsunami in South East Asia, many in the United States state, "This cannot happen here!" I am here to tell you by the Word of God it can, and will happen here in America.

What happened in Asia is a warning to Mystery Babylon to repent. . . but we know she will not repent.

In the recent past, disasters of fire, flood, earthquake, hurricanes, tornadoes, tidal waves, etc. have caused very little death. But since around the year 2000, we have begun to witness massive deaths, and it is going to get worse and worse as judgment draws nigh. You say, "Why?" It is because this nation has turned its back on God.

The ACLU is satan's tool to eliminate God from our society. They have been very much at work this past year. As recent as this past Christmas season, major emphasis was placed on removing all mention of Christ from public gatherings, government places, and schools.

Let's look at God's Word to know what is shortly to come upon the earth, and all ungodliness:

"The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea. Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O Lord, for ever." Psalm 93:3-5

So many times, we overlook the power of the Almighty. He is mightier than the devastation of the roaring waves we have seen this past week.

An unknown Psalmist writes:

"For He commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof." Psalms 107:25

Many in the United States state God would not do such a thing here, as what has happened in Asia. But Psalm 93:3 states very emphatically that God does indeed lift up the waves. We find this also in the book of Amos:

"For, lo, He that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is His thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, the Lord, the God of hosts, is his name." Amos 4:13

It is God who creates the destroying wind. Amos continues:

"Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? Shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?" Amos 3:6

God does not have to call the devil to get things done. he does not have to outside Himself to accomplish anything. We must remember if He can calm the sea, He can also cause the storm.

Jesus spoke of the day in which we live:

"For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled." Luke 21:22

I believe we are living in the day when all things written will be fulfilled. Luke continues:

"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring." Luke 21:25

We certainly see the distress of nations. Now we are seeing the waves roaring. God's Word will be fulfilled. Luke again states:

"Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken." Luke 21:26

Men's hearts are failing them for fear. The word fear means "that which strikes terror." We live in the day when mens' hearts are failing them because of the terrorist threats we hear. Terror, terror is all we hear.

Through the pen of Luke, Jesus gives us a promise:

"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." Luke 21:28

Truly, God's redeeming qualities are working in our lives.

In the recent tsunami, a great earthquake hit, causing the rotation of the earth to move. What problems this will cause is yet to be seen. Everything in God's universe is perfectly timed. One slight alteration of this time, and no one knows what it will do. But Isaiah prophesied of this happening:

"Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of His fierce anger." Isaiah 13:13

God truly shook the earth, and it was moved out of her place. The occurrences prophesied of God in Isaiah 13:13 were in the time frame of the wrath, I truly believe this may have been the beginning of God's 3 1/2 year wrath upon the earth, the day of His fierce anger. For many years I have asked, "What is God waiting for? How much worse can it get?" Perhaps now is the time that God has had enough.

Many times I have said Jeremiah 50 & 51 are about the United States. Let's look at some Scriptures:

"Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon, and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against Me, a destroying wind; And will send unto Babylon fanners, that shall fan her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about." Jeremiah 51:1-2

This nation has risen up against our God. Who is this going to effect? Jeremiah tells us it will be those who are living in the midst (or the middle) of Babylon. Those who have risen up against God will suffer His destroying wind. God is going to send fanners (strangers) who will empty the land. The word empty means "to devastate and lay waste." The United States is full of terrorists from every Middle Eastern country, Cuba, Cambodia, Laos, and Viet Nam.

You may ask, "Can a tsunami happen here?" Jeremiah asks the question:

"The sea is come up upon Babylon: she is covered with the multitude of the waves thereof. How is Sheshack taken? And how is the praise of the whole earth surprised! How is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations?" Jeremiah 51:41-42

It has been reported in TV newscasts, if a tsunami hit the east coast of the United States, its effect would be felt from Boston to the lower tip of Florida, including the islands and barrier reefs. Jeremiah prophesies the sea will come upon Babylon and she will be covered by a multitude of waves. Yes, a tsunami, could and will occur on our coasts as well.

"How is the praise of the whole earth surprised? How is Babylon become an astonishment (a waste land)? Jeremiah answers these questions:
"Her cities are a desolation, a dry land, and a wilderness, a land wherein no man dwelleth, neither doth any son of man pass thereby." Jeremiah 51:43

Devastation is defininetly prophesied for this nation - - - a nation utterly destroyed - - - a dry land (desolate, barren) - - - a wilderness where no man dwelleth. Jeremiah continues:

"My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the Lord." Jeremiah 51:45

The Lord led us in 2002 to remove ourselves out of the midst of Babylon. Those who stay in the midst of Babylon will be destroyed by the destroying wind. "Come out of her My people, that ye be not partaker of her plagues!"

Jeremiah warns every man to deliver his soul from the fierce anger of the Lord. This means to get out of harm's way.

Through the pen of Jeremiah, God speaks to all those who fail to heed His Word:

"And lest your heart faint, and ye fear for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after that in another year shall come a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler." Jeremiah 51:46

Jeremiah states, ". . . lest your heart faint and become fearful for the rumor. The word rumor means "news." Certainly the news we have heard this last year was not good, with the war in Iraq, economic uncertainty - - - now the tsunami.

Jeremiah also states, " . . . rumors (or news) shall come one year, and in another year violence and ruler against ruler." The bad news for planet earth has only begun. The news will get worse and worse. When it does the people will rebel. One ruler will be against another ruler. Jeremiah tells us what is next:

"Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon the graven images of Babylon: and her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her." Jeremiah 51:47

God is going to judge the idols in this nation. Anything that takes our time and money is an idol in our lives, and anything we spend time and money on that does not glorify God, God is going to judge.

The whole land will be confounded. The word confounded means "will be ashamed." Jesus states:

"Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of Me and of My words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of Him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when He cometh in the glory of His Father with the holy angels." Mark 8:38

The whole nation has become ashamed our Christian heritage, especially coming to the forefront this year, when all we have heard is the taking of Christ out of Christmas - - - and of course, the taking of Bibles out of schools, along with prayers. Now, making any mention of God in the public school system is against the law - - - yet teaching our children homosexuality is OK and is an accepted way of life. But homosexuality is an abomination to our God. What can a nation such as embraces these abominations expect? Jeremiah tells us:

". . . her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her. Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for Babylon: for the spoilers shall come unto her from the north, saith the Lord." Jeremiah 51:47b and 48

The destruction of the United States, modern day Babylon will come from the North. Right now China and Russia are banding together to come against the war in Iraq. And what are we doing?

"As Babylon hath caused the slain of Israel to fall, so at Babylon shall fall the slain of all the earth." Jeremiah 51:49

The book of Revelation restates this:

"And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and all that were slain upon the earth." Revelation 18:24

God's coming judgment is righteous judgment on the Great Whore who has corrupted the whole earth with her fornication. Jeremiah continues:

"We are confounded, because we have heard reproach: shame hath covered our faces: for strangers are come into the sanctuaries of the Lord's house." Jeremiah 51:51

The sanctuary of the Lord's house is the pulpit. Many of those who stand in the church pulpits are strangers to God - - - to them it is only a job, not a sacred duty.

"Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from Me shall spoilers come unto her, saith the Lord." Jeremiah 51:53

All the military might of this nation is not going to save them. Those who come to spoil this nation are sent from God.

"Because the Lord hath spoiled Babylon, and destroyed out of her the great voice; when her waves do roar like great waters, a noise of their voice is uttered:" Jeremiah 51:55

This nation no longer has a great voice in the world - - - only a big mouth proclaiming victory in the midst of chaos.

It is the Lord who is going to spoil Babylon, then He states:

". . . when the waves do roar . . . " He did not state if they roar, but when they roar the noise of their voice is uttered." The word noise means "crash." In comparison, those who survived the recent tsunami said they heard a great noise!
"At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth is moved, and the cry is heard among the nations." Jeremiah 50:46

We need not despair! Through the Psalmist relating about the sons of Korah we have a great promise:

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar, and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered His voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah." Psalm 46:1 - 7

God has given us great promises. These promises are made to the overcomers - - - not the overcome.

God has laid 12 fresh months ahead of us. What are we going to do with them? This should be the question each of us ask ourselves?

As Jesus said,

"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." Luke 21:28

Our redemption is truly drawing nigh. But may God have mercy on those who are in the midst of Babylon.

God has faithfully warned us before the devastation and mighty waves of the sea roar upon Babylon. Three times in Jeremiah 51:1, 51:45, and 51:47 God warns His people to come out of the mist of Babylon. Those who do not heed His warning with have no excuse.

These are the things God requires of us. We need to ask ourselves,

"Will we make the needed changes in our lives in 2005?"
