Vital Words to the Body of Christ
Freely We Have Received, Freely We Give
Beloved, God's seventh day rest is on the horizon and we need to make sure that we do not come short of it.
If we are to come into this day of rest, we must cease from our own works.
Hebrews 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His.
John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
We need to begin to operate in God's rest, knowing that without Him we should do nothing in our own abilities.
Moses knew this principle:
Numbers 16:28 And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind.
Beloved, it is time for us to cease from our own labors:
Psalm 89:48 What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah.
Psalm 49:17 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
We need to die to self, and finally realize that all our own works are dead. If we are to receive glory we must cease from our own works.
It is only going to be the man who has ceased from the works of creating his own glory that will go into the seventh day of rest.
When we cease from our own labors, we will do the greater works, because it will not be our own works, but the works of Him that hath sent us. This then is the purpose of the seventh day. This is when we will lay down all our own works. This will be the glorious day when we will be enabled by the Double Portion Anointing of the Holy Spirit to do the greater works Christ Jesus has for His people to do. We must allow the Holy Spirit to work in us, and cease from our own labors.
Elihu, the Spirit filled young man knew this principle:
Job 32:8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
Quit ye like men in your own speaking. Rest in the Holy Spirit, and let only His Words come forth.
Numbers 8:25 And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service thereof, and shall serve no more:
When the Holy Spirit (Number 50 is the symbol of the Holy Spirit)is at work in our life, we shall cease to work in our own works.
Numbers 11:25 And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and gave it unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, that, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.
In the coming Seventh Day it is going to be the Spirit that will rest upon us, and we will only prophesy as He, the Father, gives us what to say.
The Seventh Day in the Old Testament is a type of the Seventh Day we are about to walk into if we cease from our own labors. Beloved, be diligent to make your calling and election sure:
Leviticus 26:2 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD. And Leviticus 26:6 And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
The seventh day peace and rest is when we, in our own abilities, and works, will lie down
There are a multitude of jobs we need to cease from doing. Let's look at some of these from God's Word:
Job 3:17 There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.
We need to cease from troubling works
We need to cease from our own works that make us weary.
Be at rest! This is God's plan for our lives. We need to be diligent that we do not come short of this calling.
Judges 2:19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.
Yes, it is time to cease from our own doings and from our stubborn ways.
Le 26:1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
We need to cease from laboring at working to make idols.
Nu 17:5 And it shall come to pass, that the man's rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you.
We need to cease from our works of murmuring
Ps 37:8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
We need to cease from our works of anger
We need to cease from our works of wrath
We need to cease from our works of fretting
Ps 46:9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.
We need to cease from our works of war
Ps 49:6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
We need to cease from creating our own riches.
Ps 49:11 Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.
We need to cease from our work of creating our own way.
Pr 18:18 The lot causeth contentions to cease, and parteth between the mighty.
We need to cease from our works of contention
Pr 20:3 It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
We need to cease from our works of meddling
Pr 22:10 Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.
We need to cease from our works of scorning, contention, strife and reproach
Pr 26:20 Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth.
We need to cease from our works of talebearing (whispering) and strife
Pr 19:27 Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.
One of the most important things we need to cease from is hearing instruction that causes us to err from God's Word.
Pr 23:4 Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.
We need to cease from working at being rich
We need to cease from working at our own wisdom
Ec 12:3 In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
We need to cease from the grinding and crushing works of our own hands
Isa 1:16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
Isaiah warns us to cease from our own works that hurt, harm, and injure
Isa 2:22 Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of?
Wherein is man to be accounted of? It is only in his own works. We need to cease from man, which is to cease from working out things in the flesh, and allow the Holy Spirit to do His mighty work in our innermost being.
Isa 13:11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
We need to cease from our arrogancy and prideful works of your own hands
Isa 14:4 That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!
We need to cease from all our works of oppression ( press, press, drive, drive, demand, demand, taskmastering)
Isa 16:4 Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.
We need to cease from all our works of spoiling, violently robbing, devastating, and destroying.
Isa 21:2 A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease.
Ye who are oppressed from those who deal treacherously and spoil, cease from your sighing, and rejoice that the Lord is working in your life for good, Romans 8:28.
Come into my rest and I will cause your sighing (your physical distress) to cease
Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you peace (rest from all your own works)
Isa 24:7 The new wine mourneth, the vine languisheth, all the merryhearted do sigh.
Beloved, we must cease from our works of groaning, mourning, and grief, and being to joy and rejoice in all the Holy Spirit's cleansing work He is doing on His potter's wheel in our life, so that we may become vessels of honor in the Master's house.
Isa 24:8 The mirth of tabrets ceaseth, the noise of them that rejoice endeth, the joy of the harp ceaseth.
We need to ask ourselves, have we ceased from mirth and joy and rejoicing?
Isa 24:16 From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.
Cry out ye who desire to rest from all your labors, and from those who put heavy burdens upon you.
Isa 25:3 Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.
The principle has been laid out before us. We are only going to be strong enough to enter into God's rest, when we lay down our lives, and allow the Holy Spirit to do His mighty work in our lives. This is one of the most important parts of our overcoming process to become useable vessels of honor in the coming seventh day.
Isa 25:7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.
All we do in the flesh will work for nothing. Can ye not yet see? Remove the veil that the world and the church has put on you to do, do, do your duty. Remove this harsh covering of the flesh and walk in the Spirit.
Isa 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
This will be the righteous, complete work of the seventh day of rest.
Isa 25:10 For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill.
Mens' works will be trodden down in that day, never to rise again.
We need to take courage from Isaiah:
Isa 26:1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.
Isa 26:5-6 For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust. The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy.
Isa 26:9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness.
Isa 26:12 LORD, thou wilt ordain peace (the seventh day rest) for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.
Isa 26:13 O LORD our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name.
Isa 26:14 They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise: therefore hast thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.
But also know that Jeremiah warns all who stubbornly maintain their own works:
Jer 8:3 And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue of them that remain of this evil family, which remain in all the places whither I have driven them, saith the LORD of hosts.
Rest, now, or you will cry out in the coming seventh day, "Why Lord, Why me!" I will now do as you say, I will rest. And He will say depart from Me, ye workers of inquity, I never knew you.
Jer 8:4-5 Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; Shall they fall, and not arise? shall he turn away, and not return? Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.
Why, because ye refuse to rest, and ye stubbornly stay on the works of your own hands.
Jer 8:11 For they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
Ye cry out, Peace, Peace, but ye will not come into My peace and rest. Why will ye not come into My rest?
Hosea, speaks from God's heart . . .
Hosea 7:1 When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and the thief cometh in, [and] the troop of robbers spoileth without.
The works of Ephraim and the works of Samaria are their works of falsehood. These works of iniquity have become theives who have come in an robbed God's people of their rest and peace. These have ceased to trust in and rely totally on the Prince of Peace.
Isa 42:22 But this [is] a people robbed and spoiled; [they are] all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.
Yes, many today are snared in prison houses of their own making, and
None are crying Restore! Will you become one who will bring restoration to God's people?
Mt 11:28 Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Jeremiah continues His warning to those who cry, Why Lord! Why Me!
Jer 8:14 Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for the LORD our God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.
But it was too late!
Jer 8:15 We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of health, and behold trouble!
Jer 8:18 When I would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart is faint in me.
Jer 8:20 The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.
Jer 9:2 Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
Jer 9:12 Who is the wise man, that may understand this? and who is he to whom the mouth of the LORD hath spoken, that he may declare it, for what the land perisheth and is burned up like a wilderness, that none passeth through?
Jer 9:13 And the LORD saith, Because they have forsaken my law which I set before them, and have not obeyed my voice, neither walked therein;
Jer 9:14 But have walked after the imagination of their own heart, and after Baalim, which their fathers taught them:
Jer 9:23 Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
Jer 9:24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
Ye Shepherds, when will you begin to put forth this truth of Restoration and become an Ezekiel to warn and prepare God's people for the coming of the Seventh Day.
Eze 34:10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.
Ye hireling shepherds will cease to build the works of your own hands, in the coming seventh day.
Eze 34:15 I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord GOD.
This is the truth of the hour, not our own works, but resting from them.
Eze 34:18 - 19 Seemeth it a small thing unto you to have eaten up the good pasture, but ye must tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures? and to have drunk of the deep waters, but ye must foul the residue with your feet? And as for my flock, they eat that which ye have trodden with your feet; and they drink that which ye have fouled with your feet.
Be encouraged, little flock by Ezekiel's Holy Spirit inspired words:
Eze 34:22 - 23 Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle. And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.
Eze 34:25 And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.
Walk into My seventh day of rest and peace, My flock.
This is the flock that has yet to be gathered. These are those in this last hour who have finally come to the truth that we can do nothing of our own selves, but that which the Father, the Holy Spirit, gives us to do.
Eze 34:26 And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.
Eze 34:29 And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.
No longer will man have to work by the sweat of his own brow, because in this coming new day, God's overcomers will have ceased from their sins and their own works.
Lu 8:22 Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.
Many disciples are attempting to launch forth in their own abilities, attempting to work out the storms of life in their own strength.
Lu 8:23 - 24 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
But know this beloved, this is the key, sleep in safety and rest, as our example.
Allow Christ Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the power and the might of the storm to calm the storms, rebuke the wind, and the raging waters - - - and there will be peace and rest.
Ac 13:9-10 Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
I speak to you, your name is Worker. Cease from perverting the right way of rest and peace.
Ac 21:13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
Paul was determined to die to self and the flesh.
Ac 21:14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.
We must come to this place. Cease work! O Lord, Thy will be done!
Heb 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left [us] of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
Heb 4:10 - 11 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
1Pe 4:1-2 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
1Pe 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
1Pe 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Beloved, we must look to the one who came on the Day of Pentecost. We must look to the Anointing, (Christ Jesus), the Risen, Glorified Christ. As Paul wrote to Timothy:
Our calling came from Christ Jesus before the world began. If our rest did not come from Jesus in the two days of the church age, then in what day does our rest come? Our rest will come in the third day when the body of Christ will be perfected, or made perfect in the Kingdom age.
"Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace,
which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began," II Timothy 1:9
"There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God." Hebrews 4:9
"For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased form his own works, as God did from His." Hebrews 4:10
Those who will enter into God's rest will have ceased from their own works. Today God's people are still struggling with their own works. They are trying to get ahead, desiring the things of this life, more than the things of God. Truly their seed has fallen among the thorns, and these thorns have choked the Word of God out of their lives.
As Paul related, those who enter into His rest have ceased from their own labors as God did from His. What day did God cease from His work? He ceased from His work on the seventh day. What day will we enter into His rest? Again, it will be on the seventh day from creation, or the third day from Jesus.
It is in that day (the seventh day and the third day) that God is coming to be glorified in His saints. This is the day God is going to be perfected in His body. This will be the day those who have ceased from their own labors will enter into His promised rest.
"Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless." II Peter 3:14
Only these have the peace of God that passeth all understanding.
"And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight:
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:" Colossians 1:21, 22 & 27-28
This promise is made to all those who have ceased from their own labors
and have entered into His eternal rest.
These are those whose lives exemplify the life of Christ as Jesus did when He walked the earth.
Not my will, but Thy will be done.
